and how long will they stay this far down? Came home to Indiana for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sunday morning, $1.969 a gallon Southwest Florida $1.899 a gallon southern Georgia $1.859 a gallon northern Georgia on Monday morning. $1.839 a gallon, but did not need it in Tennessee $1.819 a gallon in Kentucky $1.799 a gallon in Indiana This afternoon, in our home town $1.779 a gallon, and today in Michigan City Indiana, fifteen miles away, $1.7019 a gallon. Usually Tennessee has the cheapest prices between Indiana to Florida, but Indiana was even cheaper. And an even bigger surprise, our local grocer had Norbest brand turkeys for $.34 lb, with a $25 additional purchase. $6.17 for the bird. Should have stopped at the fireworks warehouse stores at the Tennessee border and stocked up with the savings! Either that or stop at Jim Beam distillery in Kentucky and buy some high end stuff.

Paid $1.49 per gallon ($1.69 per gallon minus $.20 per gallon discount) yesterday.

I got mine yesterday for $1.69, after .10/gallon discount. However, there are places not that far from me still up around $1.83/gallon.

Oh good, a happy thread! It's a bit higher here, still just over $2.00, but it is going down. #2 Heating oil is 1.69 You should be able to crank up that thermostat an extra two degrees and not worry about the cost this year!

Lowest I have seen so far is $1.95. I haven't seen it that low since 2004.

Last weekend it was $1.919 at the local Costco, don't know what it is now. I'm not complaining. Phoenix area.
Seeing as how I'm older than dirt, when I was in high school (1957-59) gasoline was $0.199 during price wars. Normally around $0.259. Prices started going up a lot during the 1974 range and stayed around $1.159 for a long time.
When I bought my 2001 new truck the prices were around that and got as low are $0.99. I have a small note book in the truck and I've recorded prices.
