Responding only to your edit: GITMO Detainees were going to be a revenue stream for whatever state they would be incarcerated in. They would not be allowed to roam freely, eventually armed, as these will be most of the GITMO detainees had nothing to do with terrorism, just as most of the Syrians have nothing to do with terrorism. And most of the migrants aren't Syrian I have every right to be angry. Still not buying a gun however We've had a closed door policy b4. This would not be anything new

Do the states even have any power to stop immigration? I thought all the immigration process was done at the Federal level - this may be just posturing by the states. Are all these governors up for re-election? Considering that the federal government has said states don't even have the power to stop illegal immigration, I doubt it; and even if only certain states "accept refugees," it's not like there is a requirement (nor should there be) to keep everyone from moving to other states. Exactly, it is a knee jerk reaction and completely unenforceable.

Exactly, it is a knee jerk reaction and completely unenforceable. I do think regrouping and re-examining the situation is warranted, but it would be difficult for individual states to "no," while others said "yes." It'd be like trying to enforce a trade embargo on a country, and that country just going through Mexico of Canada due to NAFTA regulations.

It's difficult to keep out when they walk here, but Daesh are incapable of walking on water.

dubious remark. i think v ery few (if any) blue states will go along with this idea. Might want to rethink that one because I'm thinking some of these count as "blue states": nah. i will stick with "very few".

And most of the migrants aren't Syrian huh? most of the Syrian refugees are not Syrian? um.....ok.... I have every right to be angry. Still not buying a gun however i never said anything about your "right to be angry", did i? froth all you like. i have every right to be calm and happy. We've had a closed door policy b4. This would not be anything new and nothing good, imo.

Still not buying a gun however We've had a closed door policy b4. This would not be anything new Not only are they not Syrian, but they're acting like spoiled tourists on vacation who didn't get what they saw in the brochure.
"The internet is too slow here" "You're not giving me enough money for cigarettes." "I had to spend 3 days in the hospital because my balls are so big! Where am I supposed to take a woman?" "I don't want to live here. It's too far from town." "We don't want to stay here. There aren't enough shops and restaurants." "It's dead here. There isn't even a good place to get tea." "You're giving us food, education and housing. It's not enough. We want more money. Give us more money or we're going back to Syria!" "You want us to PAY for our childrens' medication? No!" "I refuse to be seen by a female doctor!" "This food is only fit for dogs and women! I'm not eating it!"
It's kind of hard to drum up much sympathy for these people who are "running for their lives."

migrants are not necessarily refugees Daesh = ISIS so, let me see if i am getting this right. we are going to stop allowing people to escape the hated ISIS because one, out of 1.6MILLION OF THEM MIGHT (might- as in, this has not been shown, yet) have been a terrorist? do you have any idea how insane that sounds?

djAdvocate, if the migrants hate Daesh, why aren't they fighting them like the Kurds?? To call Daesh ISIS validates them as a country. I won't do that

Defend myself that's very brave. i commend you. but not everyone is cut out for certain death. many would rather choose life in a better place. including most American ancestors.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify you lost me. i am calling them ISIS because that is the familiar term. so, what is the claim you are making about the refugees? that one of them MIGHT have been ISIS? yes, i freely admit that. one out of 1.6M Syrian refugees might have been ISIS. i agree. so what? one of them might be the second coming of Jesus, too.

100 + people were killed in Paris. And we are going to shrug and let Syrians in. Dems who support this are freaking nuts and have a death wish.

Dems who support this are freaking nuts and have a death wish. what about Republicans that support it? the refugees are trying to escape the horror that is ISIS. denying them that glimmer of hope is cruel, imo. i would rather be brave than cruel.
