Sad story. and a story that's becoming all too familiar with too many cops firing first and asking questions later as a result i get very nervous on those occasions i have to deal with cops, will they shoot me for some triviality.?.

jambo101, You are new here, When oldcoyote posts a bad cop story, you are suppose to shade your eyes and run the other way.
You see, oldcoyote has a problem with Honesty and Ethics in law enforcement, or government.
By posting these stories, this is my way of calling out bad behavior of law enforcement knowing that NO one will be held accountable for their actions.
Only later when the true guilt comes out, when we the taxpayer pay out Millions of dollar because of their actions.
If more people like me called out the police when something like this happens, We would have far fewer needless killing by the police.
With that said, there are many people that believe that police can do nothing wrong. Even gunning down a six year old is OK, We can dig deep a enough to justify it!

Firstly, nobody here has ever said gunning down a six-year-old is OK. In fact, I haven't seen anybody say that anywhere. Haven't heard it, either. Pure hyperbole. Secondly, I presume honesty and ethics include not only calling out bad behavior on the part of LEOs but also include recognizing when your assumption that "NO one will be held accountable" is found to be wrong and giving that equal attention. Honesty and ethics, as far as I know, apply on all sides.

Sure. How many examples do you want, Here is one that comes to mind Scottsdale police officer James Peters, In his career managed to shoot seven killing six people. Finally, came down to the point he was let go for killing fifty year old unarmed grandfather holding his one year old grandson. Yes medical leave $4600 a month. He now works for a Co. that does Videos for training other police officers, Wonder what he does there, teach how to gun down more citizens? The shooting of the grandfather produced an almost instant $2,000,000 cost to the taxpayers,, the shooting before that was only a measly $75,000. We should all feel good that this man is still roaming our streets, Probably fully armed even with a medical discharge, Wonder who is going to shot next! www.mintpressnews.com/cop-who-shot-and-killed-six-people-now-teaches-other-officers-when-to-use-their-guns/209060/ Here I even provided an easy link for you!

Personally, I am bothered by the rise of Hair Trigger cops gunning down people over frivolous crap like expired inspection stickers and so forth. And, body slamming people to the ground with 2 secs of barking some command that a person doesn't even time to understand, process and comply with. But, apparently most of society finds are increasingly militant iron fisted police force to be acceptable. I used to view cops like I would doctors, people who would take the utmost care to minimize harm. Now, I no longer do. Their presence no longer seems to De-escalate situations which I presumed they were taught to do. Instead, they seem to take situations which could be calmly and rationally dealt with using a bit of patience and time, but now they go Rambo and guns ablazing and body slamming.
I will stand behind them when I believe they are right. I believe Wilson was completely justified to shoot Michael Brown. He roughed up store clerk and punched a cop in the face. So, sorry, he got his just desserts. But, many of these other cases from Eric Garner and others are very, very disturbing. I would think twice now before involving the Police in minor issues whereas before they would be the first ones I would call.

Shooby, If you were to take time to look at the Brown shooting scene, where the the body was, where the shell casing were, the bullet hole in the buildings,
you will find that the fat boy could not outrun Wilson, Wilson ran him down, gunned him down.
Look where the truck was, look where the body was, look where the shell casings are, Wilson easily out ran the fat boy.
A few more seconds the fat boy would have collapsed from running out of breath,
Cop lie all the time, Need examples?

Here is a example of how police dept. work. www.ksat.com/news/ksatcom-exclusive-unedited-video-of-fatal-deputy-involved-shooting In this video, you see the suspect standing still not moving, hands up, gunned down by the police, this was a done deal, completely justified, uhhh, until the video shows up. Don't let your lying eyes deceive you, Listen to the propaganda, Oh by the way where is the second video that completely exonerates the officers? It is over 2 months now. www.ksat.com/news/aclu-issues-statement-on-bcso-deputy-involved-shootingAt lest someone is looking at this. www.usatoday.com/story/news/2015/09/01/video-apparently-shows-texas-police-officers-shooting-and-killing--man-who-had-his-hands-up--surrender/71511908/ Notice how hard the Dept and the prosecuter are working at trying to justify this, Typical protect your own Blue Brotherhood no matter what. Just how many have been charge with a crime here? That what I thought!

You wonder? How does your wondering represent anything viable in connection with this person? It doesn't. That's how. "Probably fully armed?" Probably? Really? You're presenting that as some sort of evidence? What I asked for as examples would be some of the same sort of available evidence of LEOs being convicted and proper Louisianaly (read that as lawfully) punished for their crime(s). It would serve well to counteract some of the seeming hypocrisy of what you habitually present. HINT: There's a recent case in Louisiana, I believe.

Do I believe there are bad cops out there? Sure, I do! Do I believe there are just as many (and probably more) good cops out there? You bet I do! I object to witch hunts and the hypocrisy that engenders them. I'll do it every time!

However, I think there are plenty of other examples that are very egregious. And, this hair trigger mentality seems to be far more rampant.

I am sure that was a joke- but saw this purse snatcher at a Wal-Mart:
Kind of looks like a warning shot but hard to tell because of the distance- but the point is the guy was running away. Only in TX.
