Maybe old news to some. Fatima Noor will be a special assistant in the Office of the Director for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in the Department of Homeland Security beginning July 28. www.snopes.com/politics/obama/fatimanoor.asp

This was nothing but a feel good political appointment so to speak, showcasing a black Muslin woman, newly immigrated, No experience, being put into a bureaucratic job, where she will over paid under worked. Which reminds me, The Energy Dept., Colorado Governor John Love was appointed first Energy Czar, since then this has bloated into a 26,000 employee agency. Ask any one on the street, what do they do? they can't tell you, If you ,are not employed by the government, without googling it, can you tell me? John Loves campaign stickers said "VOTE FOR LOVE" this was in the Hippie generation, most of the voter thought they were voting for free love not a Governor.

Residing in the U.S. for the past ten years and now a citizen is "newly immigrated"? I'm honestly still trying to figure out what the issue was supposed to be. Actually RichardInTenn, I don't have much problem with her either, she has apparently worked very hard, made the right connections. What Is Your Opinion Of This Obama Appointment?

Time will tell (maybe) being a new bueraucrat, if she promotion are from skill or feel good position or to see if black muslin woman because of diversity or being political correct.
I know it is old fashion, I like people promoted on skill, not because it looks good in a photo op.

Which is it or do you no longer know the truth.

Why is it you seem to have a very strong tendency to brand this black Muslim (muslin is the material from which bed sheets are made) woman as unskilled when you have no idea whether she's skilled, or not, as you admit in the quoted post? Is it because she's black? Is it because she's a Muslim? Is it because she's a woman? What is it?

Unbelievable. A recent college graduate being hired for an entry level position who had, get this, "no experience". That is down right shocking.

If this was just a normal everyday job opening, Why was Obama involved.
Or does greet every new employee?

Maybe my experience at the State of Colorado, If you were a black woman with a PHD you would shoot through the ranks whether or on you were qualified, Just a political feel good thing. I have no problem promoting qualified people, I don't care what they are. The liberals on this board are always trying to construe race into this, when none is there. It make me happy to see the Latino community elect more member to power, especially since they represent 40% of the population.

Are you a liberal? You were the first person to mention race in this thread. This was in response to mmhmm, suggestion that I did not like her because she was a Black Muslin Woman, rather than questioning her skill and experience for such an illustrious position! Maybe I should have said A non white person, Of some religion, and of some gender! that description would have worked, Right?

You included them first in your description of her... just for the heck of it?

Maybe I should have said A non white person, Of some religion, and of some gender! that description would have worked, Right? I did NOT suggest you did not like her because she IS a black Musli m (again, muslin is the fabric from which bedsheets are made) woman. I asked you if that was the case, did I not? Perhaps, what you should do is stick to facts and stop pretending your opinions are equal to facts. They're not and you know nothing about this woman other than what you can see. Also, what "illustrious position"? Basically, she's a clerk.
