As in the article..mention was made to the discovery of very large gas deposits off the coast in the med....this is already starting to be used and developing it greater is under way...also some oil too has been discovered in commercial quantities...There was hope of sending some gas to Europe..also useing a refinery in Egypt to process the gas for water transportation..also to supply Jordan ..Gaza...as well as Israel itself. There was talk of a investment by Russia in the field as well as discussions that Russia protect the field thus keeping Hezballah, Iran out of the picture..I guess USA is not able to offer such protection..Naturally Israel itself would be involved ..they have just aquired three new frigettes or such just for that reason.. |
