I did a roadtrip over the past four days and have a feeling I caught something. To add insult to injury, got home late last night so I didn't cook. I just paid $5 bucks for a little cup of soup. Better be damn well worth it.

Ok. It's spicy chicken tortilla soup, and yea - it's good.
So worth it!

Thanks @sroo4! I was in bed by 9 last night and will probably leave work a little early today. I can't get sick right now.
Trying to baby myself, don't know if it will work.

I have homemade chicken and veggie stew... made with homemade bone broth. make me a good offer and I'll deliver in the loop! seriously thought- take care of yourself. I feel like EVERYONE is sick right now. between the allergens being high and the cold virus going around. I have had a sore throat for 3 weeks! Drink hot tea with honey and lemon, plenty of chicken soup and get some rest!

I escaped getting sick on my own road trip last weekend but I think I'll pay for it next weekend when I visit ODS at the Petri dish...I mean, college. Get a second soup, drink lots of water, and go to bed at 7:00 tonight and sleep it out of you.

Thanks ladies. DH was on call last night so he's off today. Just emailed me asking me to give him a grocery shopping list (because yannow, he couldn't do it for me while I was gone ). I'm basically going to tell him he's on his own, just get me some Nyquil and cough drops. Oh and some lemons too (I have plenty of honey - thanks sarcasticgirl!) Cause you know that hoarse, croupy, dry sounding cough? Guess who has that now? My chest is starting to burn too. Shit! Shit! Shit! I'm pounding down water and hot tea like no one's business. Can't stand the thought of coffee right now, and if you know me you know that's one of the seven signs...

GET OUTTA THERE! take yourself home and try and sleep it off. otherwise, you'll end up passing it to coworkers and then it will make its way back around to you as soon as you get better!
I usually wipe down my keyboard and desk and everything with a clorox wipe... and then spray lysol as i leave.
I may be a tad germophobic.

IDrink hot tea with honey and lemon and brandy or whiskey, plenty of chicken soup and get some rest! Fixed that for you Hmmm...I have a bottle of honey whiskey. Maybe I'll give that a try in my Lemon Zinger tea. My head has been feeling crappy for a couple of days and my right ear is starting to bother me which means a cold is coming. Damn it.

Normally I am the first one to tell my staff to take sick time if they need it...unless there are deadlines to be met. We don't miss deadlines. I'm coming up on a quarter end close (we're a SEC filer). I can't be out right now. I have to roll over and distribute templates and get cash settlement letters out. The Clorox wipes idea is a good one, I added that to DH's shopping list. AND one of my peers swung by an hour ago, they're modeling a transaction and want me to review and sign off on the projections...by end of business today. When am I going to get the model? Hopefully by 4pm. So much for leaving early.

Work from home is highly discouraged by my employer.
That being said, I am fully set up to work from home down to having the virtual environment access key generator loaded on my tablet (I do a lot of stuff on the train).
They may not have a choice. I will stay home if I start running a fever.

Better be damn well worth it. As long as you got it in in Panera, you are all good. Bc it's cheap and nutritious and good for you.

I came home from my weekend road trip sick, too! Cough, headache, fatigue. It's the viral chest cold that went around my office last week before I left. Thought I'd escaped it, but alas, no such luck. Probably because everyone in my office came to work sick! I'm home today and wI'll decide what to do tomorrow depending on how I feel in the morning. I have no fever so that's a plus.
I hope everyone gets better soon! This is miserable!!

Some kind of particularly virulent tree dander has manifested itself in the last few days and I, too, have been doing the am-I-sick-or-is-it-allergies dance. I think it's allergies, but I still feel like crap. I wish I had some nice chicken tortilla soup.
I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
I think I have a can of Progresso Italian wedding soup. It's not chicken tortilla soup, but it's pretty good.
ETA: Today was my afternoon to volunteer in the ER. There were a lot of folks with respiratory ailments, so maybe flu season has already started.
Which reminds me, I need to get my flu shot.

I haven't been feeling the best either. I only work a few hours a week for a church, but this is newsletter week. I compromised and printed it today. Tomorrow I will fold them, put the labels and stamps on and mail them.

My husband has officially dubbed me the "plague bringer". On the positive side of things I can personally attest to the fact that the Walgreens brand Severe Daytime Maximum strength non-drowsy Cold and Flu gel caps are some pretty amazing things! While I don't feel great, I'm at least able to function. That and getting to bed before 8pm. I have two indirect reports that are out with pneumonia right now. Quarter end close is going to be a real treat. Everyone else, I hope you're feeling better, and if you haven't gotten your flu shots yet, please do so. My gut tells me it's going to be a bad season (yea real scientific I know...).

My cough is controlled by generic dayquil and some cough suppresant pills the doc prescribed for me. I'd rather be home sleeping, but I'm not bad enough to not be at work, so alas, here I am. Plus, my boss is out, so someone needs to be in charge. At least now I'm not feeling/sounding like death itself! And, yes please, get your flu shot, everyone! I promise, you don't want to feel like this if you can avoid it!

Ugg.
I ended up having to take off Thursday and Friday. Was on a conference call on thurs, but other than that didn't get out of bed. Thank goodness for modern technology.
Friday I finally dragged my ass to the doctor. Yep- Bronchitis and a sinus infection. I never do anything by halves. Thank god for the old Z-pack. Pretty much spent most of the weekend in bed as well.
One of my staff is out sick today and we are so far behind I can't even think about it. I hope we get caught up by Friday. We have a lot of people sick in the office right now.

One of the key personnel at my contractor got the flu and then pneumonia at the end of August no less. I hope you get better soon.
