Leadership is made up of primarily Iraqis and Syrians - pretty evenly divided. One was born in Russia. The titular leader is Al Baghdadi, who is Iraqi. No successor has been assigned, as far as is known. Probably either al-Afri (Turkish - born in Iraq but not Arab) or Abdullah Alani (Iraqi). Right behind those two is Younis al Mashhadani (Iraqi).
