4 Supreme Court decisions this morning - no ACA or same sex marriage decisions. (ETA - I'm wrong, I missed at least 2 decisions this morning) WE got the following: Breaking News : The opinion in Ohio v. Clark is here. The opinion in Brumfield v. Cain is here. The opinion in Walker v. Sons of Confederate Veterans is here. The opinion in Davis v. Ayala is here. The opinion in Reed v. Town of Gilbert is here. McFADDEN v. UNITED STATES www.scotusblog.com/ for links to the decisions. But it sounds like they dealt with First Amendments Rights and Criminal Cases. I think Monday is the next day for decisions. And I want to estimate that there are 15-20 cases awaiting decisions so who knows when we'll get ACA and/or same sex marriage decisions.

And I'm wrong again. We had seventeen going into today, and got six. So eleven opinions left. Not clear exactly when the end of the Term will be now. Quote is from the live blogging at scotusblog.com by Kali somebody.

I think that only 12 decisions remain to be handed down this term. There were seventeen left to be decided early this morning and five came down at 10.

Interesting-no on Texas license plates with the Confederate flag. Even Thomas agreed with the decision.

The speculation that Kennedy will be writing the opinion for the Texas Dept... case that was argued in January really ups the tension.
I've been hounding scotusblog on opinion days too. It's getting hard for me to breathe when it becomes obvious that only Kennedy, Scalia, or Roberts could be the writers of the next opinion.

Anyone else here of the opinion that when Obergefell gets announced, Scalia will do pretty much the same thing that he did when Lawrence was announced in 2003?

I haven't been able to hound it as much as I have in previous terms. I'm still learning a lot about the Court.

I suspect the ACA & same sex marriage decisions will be on the LAST possible day. That way the justices can beat feet & get out of town.

Interesting-no on Texas license plates with the Confederate flag. Even Thomas agreed with the decision. I heard that..think he was the lead on that one..surprised me that he spent that much time on anything ....don't have much respect for him myself..possible I am wrong in my feelings... I went to the SCOTUS web site to find the decisions but it was too technical for me...they post the complete cases..to find the decisions and the understanding of what they are deciding..to much for this guy so I am relying on you all to post quickie results of what they are deciding and what it means for we peasants... { Actually reinforced my feelings that I would have made a lousy lawyer...though I enjoyed "Lincoln Lawyer.." very much..didn't know there are some who actually practice that way...If I was a lawyer I believe thats the way I would do it.....possible with out the bikers...[ why are so many bikers so hugh by the way...]

Apparently, historically, the US Supreme Court doesn't do that. They release decisions when they're ready to release them. I suppose this Term could be the exception. And yeah, I don't understand a ton of the stuff either. But I always learn something.
