We all know I come here to vent when Mr. Captain tries to make my head explode. Which is actually pretty often since it's a skill he seems to have down pat. So, in the interest of fairness... He had a rare day off after on-call yesterday. I created a short honey do list: 1. Mow grass (he'd have to do this anyway with all the stupid rain we've been getting the lawn has to be mowed twice a week, and he won't let me touch his mower after my prior incident) 2. Plant perennials in the courtyard area 3. Have DD scrub down patio furniture 4. Help DD move patio furniture back to patio (I'd moved it to the grass so I could sweep the patio) When I came home he'd not only gotten all of the above done, he washed down the patio for me (it looks soooo much better now!) and cleaned the leaves out of, and re-leveled, a small bubbler fountain we have in the courtyard area. The plants were all very well planted and he even had DD water them in well and water some others I have yet to plant (stupid rain on weekends! ). He then tells me the dirt in the courtyard area is a lot of clay and stone and he thinks a prior owner had put down landscape fabric and river rock at some point and then later threw a few bags of topsoil on top and covered it with mulch. Tells me he carefully moved the fresh mulch aside we put down, dug out the clay/stones and put them our wheelbarrel, and carted it to a small pile on the side of the house. Which means planting the stuff in the courtyard area (and having it look as nice as it does) was a hell of a lot harder job than I thought it was going to be. And he did it for me anyways, AND cleaned out and made my fountain look nice because I like to sit out there in the evening and have a few glasses of wine to chill at the end of the day. So yea, forget flowers, candy or jewelry - my heart absolutely melts when my man does stuff like this for me.

He's setting a bad example for the rest of us. Hey we all have a good day sometimes. Usually when we want something in return.
