This is supposed to be great as a yard spray. I haven't tried it, yet. I copied the recipe, corrected spelling and posted.
Big bottle Blue cheap mouthwash, 3 cups of Epsom salt, 3 stale 12 oz cheap beer.... mix those three ingredients together until salt is dissolved... Spray anywhere you sit outside , around pools , will not harm plants or flowers... Mosquitoes gone from that area for apprx. 80 days.. I stray my deck all around my sitting areas twice a summer..
Go out and sit in underwear all time at nite and never get bit .. They leave that area you spray and will not come back.. Been using this mixture last 15 years.. It works.. Heard about this on a Paul Harvey segment years ago , that's how I was informed about it.. And it works well.. All my friends that have tried it can't believe it.. It works.. The stronger you mix the longer it last.. Mosquitoes and bugs hate it.. Nice mint smell

I'm going to pass this along to my brother, cause he's got such a beautiful piece of property, but you spend your time swatting the bugs.

Thinking on this......These little monsters like to suck your blood...... What if you sat out in a lawn chair with a couple gallons of Marguritas?. After 5 or six, what if you let them get you? Might these miserable pests get drunk enough to fly into trees or have head on collisions with other mosquitos? Maybe an overloads of alcohol would just kill them outright.......

I am skeptical of these concoctions. Rain washes everything away. Our solution is to put bait out. That would be me. I have all the attractions for a female mosquito....O neg blood, male, slightly overweight, drinks beer. They are attracted to carbon dioxide (breathing it out), but how does she know my blood type? Maybe I could lose a few # and change my beer brand?

I have not been bitten by a mosquito in years. Not sure if I am just lucky or is it because the county sprays for mosquitoes during warm eather months (West Nile Virus).

I'm one of those lucky people that mosquitoes rarely bite. Whatever it is about me that they don't like, I'm not mad about it. I can be sitting outside with someone the mosquitoes are feasting on and all they do is brush against me. And for whatever weird reason, the rare times that they do bite me. It's usually around my ankles. I don't know what that means.

Hey I have the stale beer part covered. There's a couple cases of Old German that are at least four years old.

I hate all of you that don't get bitten. The 1878 Yellow Fever outbreak here in Memphis killed more than 5,000 people. We take mosquito control seriously.

I'm in Florida, they spray too, a lot due to all the rain that causes standing water. (My mom actually was one of the scientist that dealt with them before she got knocked up.) They just love me for some reason. No one else will get bit and I'm running inside screaming. I usually get decent size welts from them. I'm buying a place with a first floor balcony and need to figure out a way to keep them away.

We have a big mosquitoes and bug problem (next to wetlands / conservation area) and they hate us too. Cannot enjoy our backyard when it gets dark!

I am going to try this but keep forgetting to stop to get beer.
I told DH that when he goes in for beer and buys one quality and a six-pack of so-so beer to tell the clerk the dog doesn't know the difference.
Our yard isn't too bad except when DH mows. The city is spraying.
If your wetlands are quiet not running water, a bottle of oil will help kill off the skeets and won't hurt the animals. A mosquito control person told me this.
I have used lavender and vanilla mixture with some luck. I also added Cactus Juice which is a repellant.
For the bites:
DD recommended putting a warm spoon on the bite. Also, the standby soda paste or after bite.

Get some aloe vera gel and store it in the fridge. The aloe vera will soothe the itch and bring even more relief to the skin if it's cool.

I have tried every natural remedy that ever came down the pike, that people said they swear by. None of them worked, ever. Maybe Canadian mosquitoes are different?

Um, in a word, YES! The welts I get from Canadian ones are life twice as big.

Last year I heard about rubbing your exposed skin with a dryer sheet (fabric softener). I tried it a few times outside my apt and once, while at my cabin in the mountains. I never got bit, or even bothered, by anything after I did it. I smelled a lot better than those bug sprays too!

I even stuffed them into my pockets and hung them from my hat, like a silly tea partier. It seemed to attract them rather than repel them. I got bitten a lot. I tried the Skin So Soft, tried citronella, tried not eating bananas, tried everything, to no avail. I guess I just taste really GOOD.

This is one time I'm glad I wasn't a popular girl! (I used GAIN dryer sheets.)

There's really no tried & true method of repelling mosquitoes. People have created sprays, "foggers" (those stupid coils you could buy and light with a match or lighter to emit smoke/fumes to deflect them when camping), sprays and mists.
The mosquito can multiply faster than it takes you to kill one. They're most active breeding after a rainfall. Usually laying eggs near or on standing water, puddles, etc.
The Avon Skin-So-Soft urban tale of an effective mosquito repellent is also a fallacy. The scent from the Skin-So-Soft actually attracts them. (I was an Avon rep for a few years and know that this does not work). It's nice to bathe in and leaves your skin feeling great, but it's also scented. So it attracts mosquitoes. Plus cleaning up the oily film left on the inside of the tub after bathing in it is also more trouble than it's worth.
Also avoid tanning lotions & sunscreens/deoderants that have a scent.
The best way to combat getting attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes is to wear ankle-length pants and a shirt - even if it's an open long-sleeved shirt over a t-shirt.
You might not get the perfect tan, but you're also less likely to be eaten alive if mosquitoes in your area are a problem.

It's rained here on and off for a couple of days. The city sprayed the park areas that were having events on Friday, which helped.
I sprayed my shirts with permathrin as I was playing tennis in a wooded park area. Permathrin is for clothing only. A must use in chiggar areas for people who are not used to them.
The very tastey scent-free archery hunters use therma-coils with good success. Some people set them on their outdoor table.
I have all of the ingredients for the beer spray but have not gotten it mixed up yet.
I have friends who have used bounce sheets. Some have success, others don't.
I remember playing golf when the mosquitoes were so thick we'd rub our tee shirt and it would be black and red with blood. That was pre-West Nile Virus.

Hello friends! Well one of my friends is working in the Pest control Port Macquarie Company and his company has been using this Mosquito Spray. He has shared very good points about this product, so you can freely use it for those unwanted Mosquito’s.
