I have a pair of Sorel snow boots I really love. We don't have snow that often but they've come in handy more than once! You might try Dick's Sporting Goods online. They usually have a good selection, saveinla . Thank you. Will check - we have one close by. That's where I was going to go today.

so I was cruising YouTube and came across this on my homepage.
It's a makeup tutorial, which is fine because I do watch them from time to time. But the Before and After look has me feeling some kind of way. The title does too. I am BEYOND over the drag queen/over the top makeup looks. You shouldn't look like a completely different person with makeup on. If I went out on a date with that girl all made up and then we went back to her place and then she removed it, I'd honestly call the police because some stranger clearly broke into her house while she was in the bathroom. Thoughts?

I think that kind of makeup is for special occasions like red carpet. My girlfriend had her makeup done for her son’s wedding. Looking at her in person, she looked freaky but the wedding photos are amazing.

I'm always fascinated by the talent in makeup tutorial videos. I'm amazed at 1. the transformation and 2. the amount of time and makeup necessary, which means I will never attempt anything like that! But I'm kind of jealous how good some of the tutorials are because I'm a lefty and have zero dexterity or light touch.
I love Beauty with Emily Fox. I don't buy lipstick without seeing if she swatched it first. Every damn color looks good on her!

Even with a tutorial there is no way I could do my make-up like that. I'm proud of myself if I manged to apply mascara without jabbing it into my eyeball. I think the tutorials are probably staged to an extent. You can control the lighting to make your "before" picture look as awful as possible, you can pick a really unflattering color to wash you out It makes the reveal more dramatic and keeps you watching. If I just looked like me with make-up on I probably won't get a lot of clicks.
Also I do think some of these people are professional make-up artist or pretty close to it. That kind of make-up takes a lot of time and effort to master. I'm not going to look like RuPaul after a couple of tutorials. I'd need a long time to look that good. So jealous of how good he look as BOTH sexes. I can barely manage one some days.

Help - my son fell down on ice and broke his knee - while in college. He has to have surgery and I need to go and stay with him. I don't have any cold weather gear. I can get the underwear and outerwear., but I need to know what kind of boots or other footwear I need. I either wear sneakers or sandals and live in SoCal and don't do snow at all. Can I get some recommendations please? Thank you Unless it is incredibly snowy, you might be able to get away with something like Merrill’s or Keen hiking shoes. They have much better traction than sneakers, but aren’t quite as heavyweight as boots. I tend to wear something like these most of the year, even when it snows....i have an an older version, in grey. They’re waterproof, so unless I am in deep snow, do a great job of keeping me both on my feet, and my feet dry. www.orvis.com/p/merrell-moab-adventure-low-waterproof/2P8Z?item_code=2P8Z0296&adv=127748&cm_mmc=plas-_-MensClothing-_-2P8Z-_-127748&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvpPrqZCJ4AIVSR-tBh3Dyw7CEAQYDCABEgKlJPD_BwE

I hope your son has a quick recovery saveinla ! Thank you. The knee cap broke, but not in the middle, so they had to drill a hole and stitch it together, and he is in a lot of pain. But he is young and I hope it will heal pretty quick.

Looking at her in person, she looked freaky but the wedding photos are amazing. I've seen girls out and about at the mall and other stores with the full glam/drag queen makeup on. It's downright scary-looking in person, especially the prominent eyebrows.

And sometimes I see the YouTubers doing their makeup. They're about halfway done and I think they look stunning.... and then they keep adding more! I want to scream at them "ENOUGH!"

Omg, how many different products did she use?? It might be a record. Not a fan of the lipstick either.

I'm not a fan of most lip colors. I think most women would be just fine using nothing more than a tinted lip gloss.
*my opinion may be influenced by the fact that I have tried COUNTLESS lip colors and all of them look a hot mess on me, lol

Thing 1 can do that with makeup. She's pretty much a makeup artist. I don't know where she got that talent from because it wasn't from me. I don't leave my house without makeup and don't use a ton IMO, but I'm pretty sure I look completely different without it. More than anything it's my skin. It's about 5 different colors and just not cute.

I can do that with a couple shades of foundation, not 50,000,000 bronzers and highlighters, etc. I'm surprised she didn't do a highighter over the lipstick, to tell you the truth. She used everything else under the sun.

I tried and tried to find a "nude" lip color that looks good on me. I've pretty much given up. Rich, darker colors look the best on me, so that's what I wear whether it's in "style" or not. I've tried to get away from those kinds of shades, but lighter colors just look terrible on me. I don't get it, because I've seen ladies with darker skin than mine wear lighter colors. It must have something to do with undertones.

I definitely have yellow undertones. The really dark colors make me look gothic, which I don't like for myself. I'd also like a "nude" lip color.

Every time I've gone somewhere to get matched for foundation, I end up with makeup that is too red. Except for the last time, when the lady I was dealing with finally said, you know what, you look like you have red undertones, but it's really a bit yellow, so let's try something different. And that's been the closest match I've ever gotten. I do appear to have a lot of red at first glance, but I agree with her, if you look closely, there's some yellow or olive (or something) there. So who the heck knows. I have some Native American ancestry a few generations back, which is kind of clear in some of my facial features. I've decided that's the reason for my seemingly weird undertones. I've read about using the color of your veins to determine it, but mine aren't clearly visible enough to say what color they seem to be.

I go for a yellower foundation even though the suggestions steer me to the pinker ones. I don't really buy lipstick, but once, I found this brand new (Sealed) sort of hybrid of a lipstick and lipgloss in the store parking lot. That was the best nude color ever for me! Lol. Thank you to whoever lost it, and sorry they lost their purchase (but not that sorry!) I probably never would have tried that color on my own.

Don't tell anybody, but I have at least 20 tubes of lipstick. Most of them are similar, some shade of plum. A few that are a little more purplish, and a few dark browns.

My skin is very yellow. It makes things so hard sometimes with makeup and even clothes. I don't have issues with colors of clothes. If there's a color that makes me look bad, it must be one I don't like and wear anyway. Either that or I haven't noticed and my folks are letting me walk around looking bad lol.

or a knock of style of these:
www.macys.com/shop/product/sperry-womens-saltwater-duck-booties?ID=4382293&CategoryID=25122#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D30%26ruleId%3D78%7CBOOST%20ATTRIBUTE%7CBOOST%20SAVED%20SET%26searchPass%3DmatchNone%26slotId%3D2 I have a pair, mine are designer brand but not sperys and I paid 35-45 maybe, I don't really remember.
For boots, I would get a pair just over the ankle. fur lined. slip on with a zipper on the side. I have a pair that zips in back, but I tend to slip into them and take the dogs out without bothering to zip them, and I then get snow inside my boots.
Gloves similar to this (you can probably find cheaper gloves but these are nice): www.macys.com/shop/product/isotoner-signature-womens-sleekheat-leather-touchscreen-gloves-with-suede-patches?ID=6571622&CategoryID=25122&RVI=Browse_4&tdp=cm_choiceId~z6571622~xcm_pos~zPos4
My daughter has a couple pair of Timberline work boots, they have a heavy traction sole, and are a fashion version of the men's work boots. You probably could get by with those, depending on how much snow campus might get. I wear boots mostly any time there might be icy sidewalks though.
You need a warm coat, hat, scarf, gloves. Where is your son located? I suspect only stores in cold weather areas will stock this stuff. You probably need to buy your winter wear when you get near your son. My kids' college has a parent face book page, you could ask on that type of site what store to shop at that is near his campus. The facebook page for parent's is supposed to be more for parent's of freshman, but my kid is technically a Junior, and I have been on it since my son was a freshman, and he graduated a year and a half ago. You also might be able to order and ship to him with 2 day shop runner (35 minimum) shipping.
The small town my kids go to school in only has a Walmart, but they probably have decent boots, hats and gloves for very attractive prices.

The colors look really pretty but I know they'd look totally different on me as I am not in any way a WOC. I mean, "pale pale and kind of sallowy pale" is *a* color, but that's not what they mean.

I've seen it when my child has dragged me to places like Ulta. ETA: I think it's called Fenty.

I've also been experimenting with blue and purple. That and eyeshadow are my cheap way of having fun.
