You mean the Republican haircut? No. more like a hispter comb over, but hopefully not too hipsterish. I don't think I have enough hair for a hipster comb over. Maybe like this, but not so drastic. Hubs had a cut similar to this one (not as dramatically short on the side). It was one of my favorite looks on him. So handsome! He also has a sweet beard.

I can't take advice from someone with awesome hair and sweet beard face. I need real advice from someone with thin, receeding hair and no beard face.

I need real advice from someone with thin, receeding hair and no beard face. Sorry, he does have a glorious head of thick hair. And he's tall and thin like a model. He's the worst. But fading on the side should help your hair look fuller. Look up hair styles for receding hairlines, if you haven't already.

At least you don't have David Letterman hair. That little island of hair in the front that didn't get the memo from the rest that they were retreating is hard to hide.

I tried this one this morning- they had my size, fit perfectly... looked in the mirror and NO. it is cut too short and makes me look like a square. I then remembered that I had a similar style kenneth cole jacket in black that does the same thing. so sad, because it is even cuter in person! Try The Limited. Go toward the back of the store. You can mix and match pieces. DD had to hustle a suit together for her PA school interview and we went there. They had navy, shades of grey, and black. It's a thought.

Procured 2 jackets today, one standard single button blazer by Anne Klein. It has some great stitching that adds a little texture and pairs with my Ann Taylor tweed skirt perfectly. i picked up a zip front blazer as well. I have to find some tops to wear now... not sure I have anything that I would really like paired with either of them. My tops are 80% v neck 10 % boat neck and some cowl necks and a scoop or two

I kept trying to find a dress for my daughters wedding off the rack at various upscale stores. It is a fairly casual summer wedding at a barn location in July. Nothing was working in the right colors (periwinkle, yellow, violet). I finally broke down and went to a bridal shop and ordered one. $30 extra dollars for a rush order. Trying to save money did not pay off in the long run. This is the dress I ordered, in sunshine yellow. I let DD have the final say.

My mom found dresses for my wedding and my brothers at Neimans. They were both stunning. She got a dress for my brothers rehearsal at Armani, I think. It was blah.

Mostly Macy's and Nordstrom. The problem was the color palette. The dress I ordered, even with rush and alterations will be about $250. And it will fit and be the right color. DD was very excited about how it would fit in the color scheme. Brides maid is in purple. Groom and groomsman in gray with vest and no coat and periwinkle shirt and yellow tie. Mother of the groom in a dress with a periwinkle print. My DH in a blue suit.

I've been browsing ThredUp lately. There are some decent deals to be had - cute designer bags, shoes, etc. They even have kids clothes. Has anyone checked it out or bought anything from there?

Love those dresses but I'm a plus size and their sizing doesn't go that high.

So, are bootcut jeans totally out now, or can I still get away with it?

Boot cut is never really "out" because it's universally flattering. Pay more attention to how the jean fits your legs. Right now I see a lot of "slim boot cut". I haven't seen "boyfriend boot cut" in a long time.

I tried it for a couple of cycles but didn't like their fabrics or how the clothes were made. They looked cheaply made, but their price point wasn't that cheap. I also had a problem with the fit. All of the tops they sent were too big and the pants were too tight even after I sent them back. I didn't see any way to ask for the same item in a smaller size.
Might work for a younger person with a different body type though.

I know this is supposed to be a dead thread, but I was on one of my rare clothing shopping trips, looking to replace the shorts in my profile picture (they're probably 10 years old and I need a pair a couple of sizes smaller- far more flattering than cinching up the current pair with a belt). I went to Marshall's and everything was either ultra-short or capri pants. I HATE capri pants. Why are they still around? I swear that no matter how slim you are they make your rear end look fat.
Does anyone here actually like them?

I didn't like them when they were called pedal pushers in the 50's.
