Elevation - Stephen King. This was a strange book - that's all I can say. I liked it. It was much shorter than I thought it would be too.

Well yeah, but when I reserved it from library all I saw was a book, I didn't check to see if it was any particular length. So the physical size and length was a little surprise. I probably read it in one sitting.

Overdrive has a "suspend hold" option. I can't get Libby on my Kindle so it's the one I use. I don't think I've ever needed to suspend one though, all mine take 90 years to arrive because so many people want them and I would never actually get the dang book. I have two linked library cards which gives me 16 hold requests. I always throw a bunch of books on with 4+ month wait lists and then get wrapped up in another series or two before they all become available at once. I love the suspend hold feature.

I just finished Kate Morton's The Forgotten Garden.
The problem with her books (I've listened to two so far, so maybe it doesn't extend across all of them) is that I figure out the ending/plot twist with about 7 hours left in the book. And with all the time jumping - usually at least three different time periods with different people - it can get confusing on an audiobook.
Now to figure out which of my other 30 audiobooks to listen to next. I finally cancelled my Audible account because I have such a backlog. I'll start it up again once I get down to like 5 books left (in another year or three!).
I stalled on reading Sometimes I Lie. I need to pick it up again tonight.

Finished Sometimes I Lie yesterday. It was okay but strange.
I'm going to move on to The Miracle of Dunkirk - The True Story of Operation Dynamo next.
Audiobook - The Roses of May. I already hate the narrators, and I have only listed to a half hour so far.

Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11 arrived yesterday, it was just released on Tuesday. the author is a former Boston Globe Spotlight reporter. there was an excerpt from the book in the Sunday magazine a couple weeks back and I pre-ordered a copy before I even finished the issue. Thanks for the recommendation! I looked it up on Amazon last night, looked very intriguing so I bought it - and earned $11.24 in credit for a book off of the 'Great on Kindle' book list. So 2-ish books for the price one one. Someone above mentioned that they have 2 cards with 16 holds on Overdrive...I use DH's card and manage to have 20 books on hold at a time...so I parcel it out between the series I am re-reading: Stephanie Plum (as mentioned by someone above, I am on book 5), Patricia Cornwell (book 21), J.A. Jance (she has several series and I'm going back through all of them) and books like Inheritance (6 month wait).

Oh man, I just found Inheritance on the list of books I can buy with my credit......DILEMMA! Do I wait 6 months for it to be available on Overdrive...or buy it now? Or buy another book instead.....I am HORRIBLE with decisions like this one ETA: I bought it for $1.25 and earned $9.74 in credits for ANOTHER book!! It's a scheme determined to make me spend money on books...ugh!! And it will work!! double ugh.

Finished The Luminous Dead. It was pretty good. I don't agree with the back cover review that equates it with The Martian but still a good book.
Now I'm reading Hacking Darwin Genetic engineering and the future of humanity.
It's real interesting given my professional background and I like how he is so far pretty even handed in presenting the case for it while leading you through the ethical concerns.

All of my library loans for kindle books came through at one time it seemed like. I've finished Nine Perfect Strangers and The Other Woman: A Novel. I'm working on Look Alive Twenty-Five. The Stephanie Plum series is so predictable but I can't quit reading them. At least I now borrow it from the library instead of spending money. I'm also reading The Surgeon. That got interrupted by all the library loans coming through. Seriously, this happens to me all the time. Drives me nuts.

Finished My Dear Hamilton. Emotional roller coaster.
Finished "G" is for Guilty. Now, "E" Is for Evidence has come up for me to check out, and I'll go back and read that. I do like Kinsey Millhone. I read most of these when I was a teenager, but I decided to re-read the series last year.
I'm also reading Anna Quindlen's newest novel Alternate Side. It's an interesting manner in which she chose to jump around the life of the main character. I love Anna Quindlen's writing--both fiction and non-fiction.

Has anyone read David Eggers? I read Heroes of the Frontier. I like the writing, but I hate the main character. Hate her.

I keep trying to use my DH's since he has a different library card. It hasn't worked out that they had it available any sooner than mine. He pretty much only uses his Kindle when we are on a plane so I can just load any I reserve from his library to his Kindle. His does offer magazines and mine doesn't.
I have 3 books now so I need to get to reading.

I'm not sure my library has a limit on holds or at least I haven't bumped it and know I've been up to 25. I do have my card set up on my phone for hoopla, DD1's on the tablet, and DD2's on DH's phone so we can download 10x3 audiobooks or cds per month.
My library recently started using the flipster app for magazines which I'm finding awesome for airport travel - can't read on the plane or I get sick.

I think my limit is 8 or 9. I still have a bunch of physical books and purchased kindle books so I have plenty to read and so little time.

The Loney by Andrew Michael Hurley, my cousin in England sent it to me. She has never sent me a bad book I'm about halfway through it. I'm enjoying it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're already in a funk, it's rather bleak so far.

holy hell. I don't think my goosebumps are going away any time soon. 😞 I am going to have to steel myself to read it I think , or read it in small increments, mixed with something lighter. DH is a professional firefighter/educator and knew many of the personnel involved in 9/11...he has a whole library of books about that day and those who responded. It's a different perspective for him as a professional, for me it's more sociological/historical.

[img src="http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/smile.gif" alt=" " class="smile" src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png"] Why is your house clean because of this book? Was there a hoarder so bad in it is inspired you to clean everything? Should I prepare myself for my skin to be crawling? That kind of way.
