I'm sure this has been done before but it's been awhile. So, what's on your bucket list? Help me out here folks. I guess I'm pretty boring because I can't really think of much for mine? I'm pretty content with my life and have few regrets. 1. Buy a bucket (Thanks for the idea ❤ mollymouser ❤!) 2. Know what it's like to fall in love with someone (and sadly - I know people who have never truly experienced this) 3. Get my Masters - done. 4. Get my LLM - yea it's on the list although I'll likely never do so. 5. See DD happily settled in life and grown 6. Go to Thailand 7. Take a month in France/Italy/Spain see what I mean?

I checked seeing Jane Goodall off my list, I attended a lecture by her while I was in college.
I checked going to Borneo to see the orangutans off my list and it was worth the extra $5k in student loans.
1. Take my mom to Ireland so we can trace our heritage. Something my grandmother always wanted to do but never got the opportunity
2. Go to South America and see the rain forest on this side of the earth
3. Attend a lecture by Temple Gradin and get her to sign my copy of Animals in Translation
4. I want to be first author on a research paper. I'm close I am 4th on a paper right now

I don't know...I've never really had a "bucket List" of things I have to absolutely do.
I am a simple man:
Keep living a principled life:
Try to learn and appreciate other cultures;
Which means, travel more to places I have not yet been to;
I want to see Italy and Ireland again, where my grandparents and great grandparents were from;
OK...I want to ride the worlds biggest roller coaster...LOL
I want to be at The Australian and French open, Wimbleldon and the American Open. I am a tennis player and a huge fan:
I would like to see a few Formula One races...I'm a big Ferrari and Williams fan;
I would like to be beside members of Doctors Without Borders, in some challenging life and death rescue mission;
I would like to travel into space...with the proviso, that I get to come back.
There is so much more. But I don't have a bucket list.

It kills me knees, and I' barely 6 ft. The airlines are getting so greedy, and the experience is not memorable, for the right reasons.

Haven't really thought about an actual list. Going to Africa has definitely been a bucket list item for me since I was in college, and I did that last year, so one item down! Off the top of my head:
Go on an Alaskan cruise Visit Iceland Visit Nepal/Tibet Visit Antarctica (no idea why I want to go there but I do) Through-hike the Appalachian Trail Join the Peace Corps (that ship has probably sailed for me...) Play at Symphony hall Publish something (I'm not picky: short story, novella, research, etc)
I'm sure there's more. I guess get a master's degree could be on that list, too - that's in progress, finally!

It was as wonderful as I ever thought it could be. It was many years ago and don't remember which plane it was but we did have both pilot & co-pilot and a flight steward. Was r/t from Omaha to Tampa. IIRC, there were 6 passengers on board. Rental car was awaiting arrival on tarmac...that was sooooooo cool!

I've never really made a list and I can't think of much now.
- Travel - The list of where always changes, but there are so many things I would love to see - Have enough to retire (preferably early ~55) - I don't necessarily want to retire that early, but options are always good - Be happy - I don't know that this is really a bucket list item so much as a lifelong goal. I've spent a lot of time in the past battling with depression & then spent several years in a horrible relationship. So my focus now is on being happy & content in my life & avoiding negative people. - I always say I want to write a book, but I know myself well enough now that I can pretty much guarantee that will never happen
I'm not really sure if I have any more than that.

Travel-- always adding and crossing off new places (will cross off several more here in two and three months!!)
Live in a log house in the woods (almost had it, builder was a crook, but it's just money and I'll make it happen eventually)
See the northern lights.
See a firefly.
See a glow worm.
Stay in a sleeper cabin in a train overnight (should be crossing that one off).
Become fluent in French.
Get a job in Europe.
Fill up a passport before it expires.

I haven't made a list before either. Not really sure what should be on it. Go to Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Fall deeply in love. I've been in heavy like or lust that I've tried to convince myself was love, but it really wasn't. Angel!'s "Be Happy" resonates with me. I think I've been battling depression most of my life and most often feel I'm detached and just existing. I guess I'm content, but rarely experience true happiness.

Let's see. There's a lot of stuff I want to do with DH and/or the kids but sadly, right now I can't think of anything I want to do for me before I die.

OMG! I LOVE bucket lists. I think its very important to have goals...........
- Travel to Africa - done
- Travel to China - done
- Travel to the Mideast - done
- Get a motor home (small) and travel around the USA (and Canada) - saving my money now to buy one
- Gain the skills I need to do my job while travelling around the USA (and Canada) in my little motor home. With OMGP (Oh My God Puppy) who weighs 80lbs now. And maybe SDH. If he won't go, I'm leaving him and going alone (with OMGP). I'm working on getting those skills now. About 3 more years..........
- See my kids grown, thru college, and moving forward in happiness
- Be that crazy wild grandmother who just shows up one day. Who sends you emails, posts, and cards from all over. Because she travels and will take you with her if you want, school be damned, you'll learn more with her....................
- Die before any of my children and/or grandchildren. And be happy about it.

That depends on what you do! I have trained a lot of people and taught some classes at a University. Besides, how much money do you really need?! I'm sure we can call it some form of education.
That's why I horrify my DD1's BF family. Because I encourage them to explore life and take chances. His family just wants him to graduate, get a high paying job, and get married BORING! That's why he loves DD1, she's takes off camping at the drop of a hat, travelled when she was really young, tries new things at the drop of a hat. Something he always wanted to do but never did because..........because.............. because.................
In her defense, she works hard, is in college for a YM approved degree, saves her money, lives frugally, and does her wild stuff on the uber-cheap!

hmm
be financially secure see my kids develop into great, virtuous, successful, safe, and happy people have enough time to have a second childhood with my parents, kids, aunts/uncles and cousins while they're all still around (see #1) get my pilot's license, probably in helicopter and fixed wing and use it as a tool to be more spontaneous It is weird that I'm terrified of heights, hate flying, but have considered doing this myself?

It is weird that I'm terrified of heights, hate flying, but have considered doing this myself? Nothing wrong with that. I'm the same. I don't like being in tall buildings and hate the hassle and security theater of commercial flight, but am never scared, worried in small general aviation craft or tiny commercial planes (think seaplanes/etc).
There's a whole bunch of info. for you and me, the main constraints will be time. Cost to get your license will run 5-9K depending on the school, how fast you learn, etc. Lots of info/discussions on the net about this. (that's for fixed wing, helicopter starts around 12k, though you can do both for less than the sum of the two).
But to get you license, you need at least 40 hours of stick time, plus preflight, driving to the airport, ground instruction/etc. for me, the 5k isn't the issue, it's the time. you will also learn faster/cheaper if you can do the lessons closer together. so if you fly once a month, you'll never get it, because each lesson will be 1/2 review and then 1/2 new, if you can find a way to go 2x per week, you can do it in a few months (maybe you have a slower season at worka nd could coordinate this with you hubs).
I will likely wait another 12-18 months until our remodel is done and then the kids will be about 5 years old and much easier to care for and then i'll probably take one summer and tell DW that I want to prioritize it and get through it in a few months.
EEK! EEK! EEK! Wow. It used to be around 3K around here (former coworker did it years ago). Yea, money aside it's all about time. I actually live less than 20 minutes from a small muni airport so that's why I dream. We see a lot of private planes around here frequently. Course I could never pony up for a plane but you can cost share, right? Slow time at work? You're funny...
