Tenn my family always had hot dogs in it. I don't know why it wasn't linguica, but it was always hot dogs. With linguica, it would be a Portuguese clambake on the beach. Hot dogs are all American!
Don't know if you have ever spent time in Newark, New Jersey or had the pleasure of dining there, but there is a section of town called the IronBound neighborhood. The neighborhood is loaded with excellent Portuguese and Galician Spanish restaurants. I dined in the IronBound neighborhood often when I lived in Newark. Hot dogs are German. Apple pie is British. Next you'll be saying that America invented a mother's love.

A dish from a restaurant on St Simon's Island that has fried grit cakes, andoule sausage, big fat shrimp, pieces of seared tomatoes, and a divine sauce of cream, paramasan cheese, cream, hot sauce, cream, mushrooms, and cream.
And hefeweizen (to cut all that cream).
I won't need executing because the fat content is like a bullet to the heart.

The gooiest, most delicious macaroni and cheese known to man, and shitloads of the crispiest-but-not-quite-burnt bacon. I'm pretty easy to please. (i'm sure there are more things but this just sounded amazing to me right now.)

I'd like some fried cassava the way DH's dad does it. It's amazing, like fluffy mashed potato bites rolled in crispy potato chip dust.
That and a deli sandwich of any sort and fruit smoothie or lassi (mango?) sound really good to me. Kind of basic, but it sounds like a nice meal before heading off to see if there's something in the beyond or not.

Definitely prime rib slow-cooked to medium-rare on a rotisserie that has a smoker for that extra added flavor - served with au jus, horseradish sauce, loaded baked potato, and Yorkshire pudding - and a side of sautéed mushrooms.
That and/or a gigantic platter of Alaska King Crab Legs with garlic butter for dipping, garlic toast and baked potato.
Both served with the best Pinot Grigio to wash it all down - followed by a nice liqueur - such as Drambuie or Grand Marnier.
I could leave this earth in peace with that feast - not to mention not caring about my garlic-breath.

I love lamb, so I would go with leg of lamb served in a cherry reduction sauce, roasted rosemary potatoes, corn on the cob, french onion soup for a starter and creme brulee for dessert. If it were summer time, Irishpad, would that leg of lamb be a marinated, butterflied leg of lamb, grilled to medium-rare perfection? When I've done leg of lamb (not often, people just don't eat it much up in this part of the country) I do a butterflied leg of lamb and marinate it in a mint/garlic recipe I found several years ago. I've had the cherry reduction with lamb chops, never have cooked it, but I'm guessing the spicing for the meat would be kept quit simple so it wouldn't conflict with the sauce. Medium-rare for sure! yogiii, homemade ice cream was my second choice..... make it a dozen times a year and love it!

I take the butterflied leg, cut little slits all over it and insert thinly sliced garlic cloves in the slits. Then I massage it with olive oil, drape it with sprigs of fresh rosemary and toss it on the grill. Amen for the medium-rare; anything more is an insult. Sometimes I do a garlic/mint/olive oil sort of sauce to serve at the table. While the lamb rests, throw some asparagus on the grill for a few minutes. There you have spring all on one plate. If you are really hungry, little red new potatoes all tender with butter are nice too. If you are the healthy sort like we are, steam some cauliflower and puree it instead of the potatoes.

I used to make lamb chops with a garlic/tarragon/cream sauce that was out of this world.
