Television reporting as many as 40 US citizens who left to fight for ISIL have returned to the US. Do they get questioned before being let loose or do we just keep an eye on them?

The only reason they are back is because The Learning Channel is filming them in a new reality show "Love it or Leave It: ISIS Style"

I didn't think love affairs had happy endings with ISIS? Wouldn't they all have the same ending....beheading, burning, crucifiction, hanging shooting etc?

If television reported 40 known have returned, chances are our government is tracking their every move and probable communications. Let us hope so.

I admit I'm a little fuzzy on our current policy toward returning fighters. They detain them in Great Britain don't they? Isn't it a crime here to go and fight for those terrorist groups?

I am not sure GB would detain our citizens. And the U.S. would have to have its own proof they trained with and possibly fought for ISIS. While knowing they travelled to Turkey and then entered Syria and probably beyond is a pretty good indicator, we would also have to have some type of legitimate proof they were trained and took up arms (I imagine). The U.S. is holding three females from the NYC and Philly areas after we discovered through monitoring their communications they planned on causing havoc in the U.S. The three never travelled overseas.

I rely on the govt to track these criminals as much as I rely on the govt to be honest.

I hear cuba is nice this time of year I am personally looking forward to travelling to Cuba on vacation. It may take a few years to reach that legal point though.

I thought our government has already said if people went overseas and they were fighting for ISIL, they are doing an illegal act, against the U.S. Why haven't they been taken into custody?

But do we have proof they were fighting for ISIS? Do you arrest and detain people without proof? We only know 40 folks travelled to that area. The government may be withholding information from the public for reasons unknown to us.

I heard of one guy, I think from the UK, who got all inspired to be part of ISIS. He traveled there and found some of them, but was put to work washing dishes, cleaning toilets, etc. Plus, horror of horrors, he had no phone/internet access. Disgusted, he decided to go back home, but ISIS said he couldn't. I think he got severely beaten by ISIS but eventually escaped and ran back home. I'm not sure what these people think live would be like with ISIS, but I have no doubt most of them are deeply disappointed when they actually get there. I don't know if we should let them back in, though. Terminating their citizenship would be good. We already have enough stupid people, we can afford to keep a few extra from coming back once they decide they want to fight for the enemy.

If these idiots can clean ISIS toilets then they are good enough to clean our prison toilets. I wonder if these young British, American and other foreign women wanting to join ISIS have some sort of distoted romantic fantasy the 'heroic' man of their dreams awaits them there.

The women that want to join them is what really astounds me. I can't figure out what they're imaging will happen. Do they really understand what second class citizens women are in radical fundamentalist Islam circles? From what I understand, they are 'given' to an ISIS warrior as a bride. Not "I get to choose the ISIS warrior I want to marry" but "GIVEN" - e.g. forced to marry someone - maybe an exceptionally smelly someone with bad teeth and a paunch. Other than maybe being allowed to be a suicide bomber, I think ISIS women are pretty much relegated to the barefoot and pregnant positions, so forget any notions of carrying a rifle and running over sand dunes in an exciting manner. I don't know, maybe these girls have read too many sand and sword bodice ripper novels?
