I'm not the least bit surprised. From the Sodomite Suppression Act which advocates shooting gays, to discrimination in business to the new focus on teaching abstinence-only and creationism in schools, to the resurgence of fundamentalism...I have only one thing to say.
USA! USA! Plowing full speed ahead into the 18th century!!
we are heading down the twisty path that leads to pre-enlightenment. Does that mean we can get rid of our LED light bulbs and go back to gas-lamps and torches for indoor lighting?

And thanks to Larry Wilmore- GUNS were not on the list of banned items for TANF
The banned purchases:
In Kansas, here's a list of what would be off limits:
Alcoholic beverages, Casinos, Gaming establishments, Jewelry stores, Tattoo parlors, Massage parlors, Body piercing parlors, Spas, Nail salons, Lingerie shops, Tobacco paraphernalia stores, Vapor cigarette stores, Psychic or fortune telling businesses , Bail bond companies, Video arcades, Movie theaters, Swimming pools, Cruise ships, Theme parks, Dog or horse racing facilities, Parimutuel facilities (off-track betting), Cigarettes and tobacco products, Lottery tickets, Concert tickets, Tickets for professional or collegiate sporting events, Tickets for other entertainment events intended for the general public, Sexually-oriented businesses, Strip clubs, Any business or retail establishment where minors under age 18 are not permitted.
Guns are OK

Hopefully underwear is less of an issue than bras. I'm just wondering if Kansas is going to look more like people of Walmart because they'll have to make do with what Walmart and similar stores carry.

I am not upset of the content of the law- I am upset of the message sends- that the people on TANF are wasting money on all this crap when clearly they are not. But it makes the base happy so why not.
And I never said the GOP (at least the far right members) hate the poor- I said they don't care about them- and when it comes to making a spending choice a new weapons system will take priority. When they intentionally waste money, cut taxes and cause a budget/debt/deficit crisis the first thing they want to cut is any program that helps the poor, sick, or elderly. It is not like it is a secret.

Probably only passing through. My point really was certain sizes aren't found at Walmart, Target or even department stores.

I suppose you would have to go to a specialty store to get these.

ROFL! Seeing those panties brought back a memory I hadn't thought about in years! When I was a very young teen, my father's mother gave me a gift for Christmas. It was a pair of red panties that would have fit a baby hippo with room to spare! I kept them for years because they always made me laugh.
