I really hope they came up with a better option than John Stamos. While his look is similar maybe he really doesn't have the Two and Half Men vibe IMO. An edgier choice would be nice. ;D

I'm amused by the show too, I will admit I actually had a rerun on just now for background noise. that said, I can find humor in some "All In The Family" reruns too - which would never pass a censor today. hindsight being 20/20, I think we can all see the error in the idea of basing a series on the life of a guy who lives this way 24/7. as a totally fictional character, it's a great slapstick. as a mirror on a real life, it's a little shocking.
and no, I don't see that as hypocritical, because quite frankly I don't see anything wrong with escaping reality. until someone tells me about blasting off to a galaxy far, far away, and saving the universe....I'm perfectly happy to look to Hollywood to provide an escape.

I don't see it as too big a leap for John Stamos to step into the role and character and make it work. He played a single womanizing Uncle Jesse on Full House, and could probably transition easily into the part of "Uncle Charlie" and make it work [just differently than the way Sheen played it].

I would like to see Judd Nelson (is that his name) take his place. He's currently playing Chris the ex husband to Courtney Smith's character. They've intermixed characters before. Candy (Alan's hot 2nd wife) and the the chick that Charlie almost married were also girlfriends(one night stand types) in previous shows. He'd fit!

I don't know. A hit show usually has some pretty good chemistry between the actors and actresses, it's not easy to just change someone out. MASH was one of the few shows that changed out quite a few of their major people and the show didn't suffer.

I'm confused....is "Courtney Smith" the Courtney Thorne-Smith I remember from Melrose Place back in HS? and I think Judd Nelson was in "Knocked Up"? I'm really not a movie fan.....I caught Knocked Up in a $5 second-run theater, and had a great mindless laugh for a night. I don't follow how they come in to play with Two and a Half Men. I do remember Candy though. like I said before, it's decent background noise!

Yes, Thorne-Smith. But that was too much to type. LOL! And Judd Nelson was part of the brat pack (are you familiar with The Breakfast Club?). He was the bad boy with the big brown eyes that the red head chick(Molly Ringwald) started dating.

haha, I've only recently finally seen the Breakfast Club (I said I wasn't a movie fan!) but yeah, I know who you mean. I don't remember seeing him *or* Courtney Thorne-Smith in the tv show. I totally don't keep up with current episodes though, just reruns before sports generally start broadcasting for the night. are they on this season?
yes, I really am that slow with tv shows.....

<<swoon>> We used to skip out of our last classes in high school so we could watch General Hospital. Then in college it was General Hospital, M*A*S*H, pub club, M*A*S*H, M*A*SH, pub club, dinner, go out.
