(Title said with dripping sarcasm.) Depending upon which tv meteorologist you believe, I am either getting 24+ more inches of snow or 14-20 more inches of snow. As if there is any difference at this point. There's already about 5 feet on the ground. The only good thing abut this storm is there won't be hurricane strength wind with it. And, yes, school has already been cancelled.

Here in the Midwest and over into WY and MT, we would love to have that snow. Not to mention CA.

We were also supposed to get some serious snow, but so far there's very little accumulation. It's going to snow overnight, so who knows what tomorrow will bring?

It is getting a bit redundant, GRG a/k/a goldenrulegirl, but you and everyone else in the northeast (and nothwest) be careful.

We seem to be getting mostly freezing rain here in Toronto, I just dug out another ice sheet from my front door.

It was 80 degrees at my house today. I even got a little sunburn.
Doesn't somebody want a house in AZ?

It was 73 today in NW Arkansas. This usually means we're still going to get ours yet! However, in picking up some tree debris in the back yard today, I noticed the Hydrangea is already starting to bud out, as is the oak tree in back of us. The ferns look as good as they did when we planted them last year, and of course the holly bushes are green and lush.

They would dearly love some of that snow here. We've just been getting rain, the ski resorts are almost bare and the skiiers are trying to ski in mud.
Almost 60 deg here, and more rain.

Thursday I spent over an hour shoveling before going to work. Friday the teen and I shoveled before DH got home. Saturday DH and I shoveled before I went to work, and I shoveled at work, too (including the ramp). Today DH and the teen and I shoveled before dark, just to head off against tomorrow morning. Definitely colder tonight than the other days, windchill is -3. We missed the freezing rain south of us, and apparently north, too if TO got it. It is getting hard to throw the snow high enough, the piles are getting tall.

Mid 50s in Portland. It's been the most mild winter ever. OTOH, the ski places are really struggling.

Swamp - we must not be too far away from each other. People were talking about that at work the other day. I'm south of Syracuse.

Ugh! I feel for you guys that are getting all of the snow.
That was us last year. We had so much snow on our property by the end of Winter, that we were running out of places to put it. And, having to throw snow over drifts that are shoulder-high isn't easy. Hope you all get a good thaw!

Hope you all get a good thaw! Not too fast of a thaw, or then the flooding and ice jams in the creeks begin. DH spent a few full days last winter with his fire company, pumping out flooded basements in the city. It seemed like the weather cycle last year was snow storm followed by quick melt, and repeat. This year the cycle has been temps 20 degrees below average with snow, followed by brief return to average temps (30), and repeat.

The ferns look as good as they did when we planted them last year, and of course the holly bushes are green and lush. In another few weeks, that unusual 73 degrees in middle winter, stormy weather to your west, along with a strong northeast jet stream, may be an indicator it's tornado weather. It is here.

This winter has been a dream and I keep wondering when our number is going to come up.

Sorry GRG and anyone getting big amounts of unwanted snow. Waiting to see how the ice, rain, snow, wintery mix stuff ends up falling out here.

I feel for you guys. This year it just seems to build up and east of us. We were in the 60's Saturday and Sunday. At nearly a mile above sea level we keep anticipating mother nature will remember we are here ......but we have lots of time...winter in Wyoming can easily run into June. Just keep your snow shovels polished and close at hand!

I spoke a little too soon.....Pete Bouchard on channel 7 (one of the best in the industry, IMHO) says the Cape's getting nailed with Thursday's storm.

And I like Pete and Jeremy. They're funny. Chris Lambert looks like Peter Brady. I am so sick of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I'm going to work tonight. I have to shovel out my driveway and the roads have been crap for the last 2 days and I really don't want to go out on them in my little car until absolutely necessary. I have booze, food and cat litter so I'm good. Stocked up on the food and litter in between snowflakes last week. chiver78: did you hear them say that we have now passed the snow totals for '78? We were watching channel 7 a little while ago and they mentioned that. Not that I care what is going on in the city of Boston because I don't live there. And DH is changing any all doctors appointments to when there is no snow on the ground. I figure August should be good. I HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there, folks, and stay safe. We had rain this morning but it's stopped now. Mid 50s F and very little wind. Not bad, just dreary.
