Oh man, that would freak me out. First the finding out you were expecting quads and then all the worry with four preemie babies. Ick.

I knew a woman who was a fraternal twin. Her parents had two sets of fraternal twins- a boy and a girl each time. It was weird to have a conversation with her because she referred to them as her brother (her twin), her sister (the other set) and her sister's brother (the other twin).
It was so strange to hear someone refer to their brother as their sister's brother. Always made my head spin. I always wondered why she didn't just call him the other brother- but apparently that is how the parents called them so that is what the kids did.
Jane's brother (Michael's sister) Wendy's brother ( Peter's sister)

I hope they have good insurance and a generous FB following!

I would be suicidal. I can't imagine trying to deal with more than one baby at a time. OMG....

I've always teased my two dds and my niece that twins skip a generation in our family and their generation was next for twins.
My oldest dd now has a 2 1/2 yo and six month old twins. She wasn't very happy with me when she found out. She can't say I didn't warn her.

I have tried to figure out the likely hood of twins for my DD. I have younger twin brothers (fraternal) and my husband has older twin sisters (fraternal), never can quite figure it out.

Fraternal twins run on the mom side (the mom would have to ovulate two eggs to have them). As far as I know identical twins have only been identified as spontaneously happening, though this article says it's more likely with fertility treatments.

Seems like they really should have named him Darryl.

A niece and a nephew in my family both have twins- each has fraternal twin girls. In one case the wife had an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage and finally had twins at age 49. In the other the guy had a low sperm count. I suspect both had IVF.
I thought most doctors wouldn't implant 4 fertilized eggs. There's too big a chance you could lose them all.

They only implanted two, but they both split...hence the two sets of identical twins.

My sister's DH is a twin. Actually, a triplet, since there was a third baby, but it was stillborn (much smaller than the other two, they were starving it out). BIL and his twin are convinced there was a fourth, they just squeezed him out earlier. They also have another set of twin brothers, and two more singleton brothers.
Family parties with all of those brothers are something. To make things just a bit more confusing, two of BIL's brothers have the same names as our brothers (mine and my sister, that is). So two different sets of twins, and two different sets of brothers with the same names.

How would fraternal twins be then ? just askingUS / PT daycare/baby sitter and MIL My wife is off on weekends and I can arrange for my two days off to be during the week (ex Thursday - Friday). So that covers 4 days. We would hire a baby sitter for 3 days or send the kids to day care 3 days a week. That is the plan for 1 (minus PT daycare) or 2.... Triplets or 4 is a different ball game all together

I wouldn't say "hoping", but it would certainly liven up the board if you did.

My husband is a fraternal twin, thankfully the twins in our generation happened to his brother.
