My favorite is when people get feisty and antsy about getting the closest parking space at the gym. Seriously, peeps? You're about to go exercise - it won't kill you to park a few more feet away and walk an extra 50 yards. I'm not going to fight for a spot, but I do always feel safer returning to my car when it is in eyesight of the gym. Especially since it's usually after sunset when I leave. Not to mention escaping the elements is the reason I'm going to the gym instead of working out outside in the first place.

My brother fondly tells a story about our grandmother (he was her caregiver the last several years of her life). They were at one of her favorite restaurants when my grandmother cut the line (all young families waiting in line). When my brother called her on it, she said "two words....Grand and Mother". My brother replied with "two words......Nursing and Home!". She got her butt to the back of the line where he was waiting.

I also would have called her on it. I'm old and don't expect special treatment. If you didn't say anything to her, she probably would have thought it was perfectly fine. Next time maybe (and it's a BIG maybe) she might not be so quick to do that.
I got called on something similar. Very short lady, and I honestly didn't see her waiting in line for food at an event. She called me on it; I apologized and told her "please go ahead". I would rather be called out in a situation like this rather than be rude.
