Richard,
You might have missed it taking that out of context. Just some word play for fun. You could review.

Nope. That was the complete post, in it's entirety. Nothing to take out of context.

Republicans are way smarter about choosing constituents than Democrats. if you were to construct a party, you would aim for those that have the most money and are the most likely to vote. that is what the GOP has done. smart. it only becomes less smart when you enact policies which shrink the upper class and grow the lower class. It is a fatal flaw, no matter how much money gets pumped into the system. I think we had a good balance a while back- and greedy people had to ruin it- shooting themselves in the foot in the process.
I am sure there is math for this- but there has to be a sweet spot when it comes to wages, taxes, etc. where the economy takes off and everyone benefits. Why changing that in favor of only a few people benefiting is a political strategy I will never understand.

I've never understood making things so good for the "poor" that working makes no sense. That they do better on the dole. I just figured out that the people buying my house aren't married. He's buying it in HIS name. Why? She says its because she has poor credit. Well, my mom ran her credit and it was just fine otherwise she'd not have rented my house to her. So now she lives with a man and has 5 kids and receives all kinds of stuff including EITC because she does have a job but is being rewarded for scamming the system. If she married baby daddy, she'd lose all that stuff. What BS.

I no longer identify as a Republican. The Republican party has left its republican ideals in my opinions. Most of the people I do vote for are republicans. However, if they are not someone I can put my support behind, I simply will vote for someone else or oftentimes, just not vote at all as my vote. A non vote IS a vote. And, if the other party (Dems) win, then so be it and at some point maybe the Repo party will wise up and put in better candidates. I want strong fiscal conservatives. I want less govt, not more. I think that there may be libertarian candidates I can support. But the tax and spend, govt is the answer to all problems Dems, no I will never support that.

There are 100 MILLION Americans who are not working. Soooo, when you are schlepping yourself out of bed before the crack of dawn going to get your arse kicked all day by The Man, ponder that. And, those 100 million have cell phones, Dish TV, cars, heat, food on the table. Uh huh. And, with the current Food Stamp President, you want MORE of that? Oh, ok.

Oh sure "report" Welfare Fraud. Uh huh. The Govt doesn't WANT to know or CARE about fraud. They are buying votes, pure and simple. They don't give a rat's arse how that money is used or where it goes as long as they create a culture of Dependence that maintains their power.

To whom? The whole thing is disgusting. I thought I rented to a nice married couple with a bunch of kids. I had the perfect house for a large family. They both worked. I should have known better. So they turn out to be liars and scammers. Well, that's how the middle class survives now. Should I ask for proof of marriage before renting? That's probably illegal anyway. I'm so glad to be getting out of landlording, period.

A lot of people become squatters. I know some landlords. These people move in and stop paying rent and live there rent free for months while the landlord tries to evict them. Then, they move out and go to another unsuspecting landlord and live several more rent free months.

Is that the only fact you are basing them not being married on ?

Also, They Work! On the other thread you said you'd pay cash to people to let them screw the tax system and get more benefits because at least they work...

Deflect how? By asking her what proof she has that they are not married? I said report them for fraud. But on the other thread she said she'd help people commit fraud. It's a contradiction...

The govt is a contradiction. If they are going to ENACT programs then THEY need to put measure in place to POLICE their own programs. Sheesh. They don't WANT to police fraud. They are happy about fraud. They WANT dependence. There is no other conclusion one could possibly draw. And, she has a right to be pissed about these frauds and cheats. And, the rest of us need to stand up to these users and losers.

But we don't even know that they aren't married... Buying the house in his name isn't proof.
And even if they aren't, she has no proof they get EITC, etc. She is just assuming.

Lol. Yes, she certainly can assume anything she wants... Doesn't make it true, but she can assume.
Another thing that makes me happy. When I feel I must assume... I assume I don't know everything....

1. First, a non-vote is NOT a vote. A non-vote is dismissed as apathy, not respected as a principled stand. If there were an option on the ballot for "None of the Above" and you chose that, then you would be correct.
2. Yet you still vote for the borrow-and-spend, big government Republicans? That makes little sense either. As I said previously, both sides are going to screw up spending. The Democrats are at least more honest about raising taxes to pay for it. Republicans just borrow instead. FAR more damaging to our future.
I am also not of the opinion that we should be giving as much to poorer people as we do. But we sure as hell should not be giving to the wealthy either. They neither need nor deserve it, and they create virtually nothing from it.

1. There actually IS a "None of the Above" option on all ballots. It's called a "write-in". All ballots are required to allow for write-in candidates. Just write "None of the above" or "Protest all listed" (I've done the second one, twice).

It would be wonderful if the voters of all the other states would not full their US Senate and House seats so that my Senators and Representative would be the sole votes.

A non vote IS my VOTE at times. So, I really don't see where YOU think you can tell ME the manner in which I may exercise this right. I will ONLY vote for a candidate I truly support, PERIOD. To do otherwise is simply wrong in my opinion. My vote must be EARNED, period. Just because you have some label attached to your name doesn't make you worthy of my vote.

If you are having a problem with the quote box, you can fix it. Just edit your post after the fact. Put a quote box in the edit, then cut-and-paste into there. Works for me.

You can also manually type in quote at beginning and /quote on each side of the text you want to quote, placing the quote at beginning of text, and /quote at the end - each within a set of square brackets: --->[ ]

Blockquote and /blockquote with the [ ] centers the quote.

That's a lie. You think the people living on the streets have DISH TV and controllable heat. You think the disabled living in group homes all have cell phones and DISH TV as well? Heck, I haven't had TV since 2007, I know I'm not the only one.
Lower income is not as uniform as you want to believe nor is any income level for that matter. Bottom line, is the employment stats as in participation rates have not even had a 10% change in participation rates since the highs of 2004/2005 in the table at 66 - 66.4.
Check it out. (My attempts to include the table failed miserably. Paste failure. ) data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost
There are these people called elderly, retired, disabled, and children under 16 that generally don't work in most countries. Which means, very often in any given household with children under 16, participation rates can be say 33% with one spouse working, one stay at home parent, and one under 16 year old child. A family like the Duggars can really screw the metrics.
But the big thing to note is the change in labor force participation is not as dramatic as all the whining that's been going on since the recession. Cutting people off and not increasing jobs has proven to be a failure as policy. (If I find the long term unemployed stats and likelihood of finding FT employment, I'll post it. But the larger the unemployment rate, the more dramatic the rate of long-term unemployed not getting re-employed. Employers shun them, and we all pay a bit for that. IMO.)
