After reading about the picky eaters on some other threads I have to say my kid is awesome when it comes to eating stuff kids aren't supposed to like.
Some of her favorites among other things:
Split Pea soup Liverwurst Eggs, in any form Fresh Veggies (raw carrots, celery, broccoli, cucumber, sugar snap peas) Edamame Pho with beef tendon
Now, just to prove she isn't perfect - the kid hates pizza.
Go figure.

My nephew was eating snails (escargot, not the kind right out of the garden) at age four. Basically, if he sees you eating it, he wants it. I'm not sure if that means he likes it, or just wants to see why you like it. And for the record, I love pho. It's God's way of making a perfect dish in a single bowl.

Gwen will try almost anything. Only thing she refuses is potatoes, unless in French fry form. If I hadn't carried her for nine months I'd swear we weren't related, I LOVE potatoes!
My MIL thinks she's picky but that is b/c the kid won't eat all that processed crap she buys for the other grandkids. I don't consider a kid who won't eat Chef Boyardee to be "picky".

I hate you all. Seriously, some days my kids are picky and some days they're not. Often what they're refusing to eat is something they went to town on the last time we had it. From which I conclude it's really more of a control thing than having issues with a particular taste or texture.

I know the kid isn't "picky" like DH is picky but she'll still refuse to eat dinner. She wants to test me and see if I'll give her whatever she wants today. Other times she'll happily sit down and clean her plate.

Mine wants "Cereal" all the time. Then complains at 9:30 pm she's "hungry". Well you should have eaten dinner then shouldn't you?

My niece is the pickiest eater but the things she likes are odd IMO. Her favorite food in the world is salad. She also eats chicken but not turkey. She likes shrimp & crab legs & buttered noodle. Has never eaten red meat. The only fast food she will eat is chick fil a nuggets. Not nuggests from McD or Wendy's. Just chick fil a. I think I'd have strangled her long ago if she were my child.

Mine wants "Cereal" all the time. Then complains at 9:30 pm she's "hungry". Well you should have eaten dinner then shouldn't you? My go to is cheese sticks. We go though a 24 pack of Sargento cheese sticks a week. Sometimes more. Rarely less. I'm ok with cereal for dinner too. We pretty much only have Chex and Cheerios types cereals in the house. But first they have to eat X bites. Which can vary depending on why I think they're being picky. If it's a new food or one we haven't had in a really, really, REALLY long time, they get away with 1 or 2. If it's something I know they like (spag. and meatballs, couscous, quinoa, pizza) they get a higher number. But not higher than their age, so 4-5 bites really. And sometimes, once they start eating it, they finish up what's on the plate and ask for more. Just to make things more interesting I guess.

DD just started buying lunch this year (she's in 3rd grade), so it's only 1,199,999 kids.

BTW breakfast is free. We have some low income families here and we decided that breakfast was missing at home and important for the children to begin their school day.

Wow. My kids ate just about everything. They both really like their veggies. In fact, they will eat many things I won't, which isn't much. (I don't do gourmet, buffets, or yogurt, and prefer not to eat boxed mac 'n cheese.) I always knew I was blessed.
