...and no I will not aplogize to the PC police. Two nights ago at least half a dozen cars were "keyed" at the metra station from which I commute. Ask me how I know . Damn car is almost paid off also. Then this morning I pull into the station to see a squad car. My hopes get up - maybe they've caught the vandals in the act?!? Hope is quickly quashed when I see a car which has driven over a parking barricade, over a sign post, half off a train platform, and blocking a set of tracks. The car can't be driven off and will need to be lifted/towed away. Since it's only a two track line the entire morning schedule is hosed. I'm talking with the conductor and it appears the first crew in this morning saw the train on the tracks with the driver asleep passed-out in the front seat. Alcohol is suspected .

How long are you planning on staying and will you expand your adventures to the burbs? Hoping for four to five days in the Chicago area. We were hoping to stay downtown, but we will have a vehicle, so yes, adventure expansion is an absolutely doable idea. Especially if the 'burb is an interesting one: a good foodie festival, museum, independent bookstore, ethnic neighborhood and stuff like that attracts us.

How about the sleeping blu line driver went up the escalator at ohare? Second time she s fallen asleep. Once was not enough? Actually from the article I read (can't find the link) she's fallen asleep more than once (although I think while driving the train alone it was once) and another time during training. I actually said a Hail Mary and thanked the universe that accident happened during a non rush hour. I still happy/amazed no one was killed.

I think every time I take the blue line to ohare from now on I am riding in the back of the train.

A woman (while driving) posting to FB...picture of the vehicle (she just took with her iPhone) that had only portion of the windshield defrosted so he can see where he is going but the rest of the car covered in snow. She took the picture, posted on FB and wrote: look at this idiot that almost hit me. How stupid is this to drive without being able to see where you going? She had done ALL of this WHILE DRIVING! and calling someone else dangerous and stupid!

Unfortunately the only way to fix 'stupid' is a cleanse of the gene pool. Which make families very unhappy.
