Glad everything is going so well Rukh! :-) Enjoy your week off. I think 10 hours sounds like plenty LOL. I would think one medium project a month is doable.
I basically finished my Christmas shopping yesterday and wrapped the gifts. Got the last gift for DS3, and the gift certificate for my dentist. I'd still like to pick up a couple of small things for DH. I'm teaching tomorrow so I'll probably take a wander around the mall near my school.
Marking Week 51
- Participation marks: 9 classes
- Writing: 6 papers
- Send spreadsheets to Admin (9/9 done)
I haven't done any school work since Wed. I WILL FINISH THIS TODAY.
ETA: I need info from other people for the last 2 spreadsheets, so I'm crossing it off my list, since I've done everything I can. Once I get that info it will take me 10 min.

DH and I got up early, went to breakfast, then did the weekly food shopping (and holiday food) together. Got the beer, but in this backward state, cannot buy wine or alcohol on Sundays...so ridiculous! He will do that tomorrow as well as pick up a gift card near his workplace. I am now baking and want to finish some wrapping. Still need to do the regular laundry and clean-up before the week starts.
I also paid all bills yesterday through week 2 of January and that feels so good. We have trip planned for that week to visit DS that will cost a small fortune, some of it pre-paid but a lot not!

Pluggin seeing your DS will be worth it! :-)
Mon / Tues list
- work (Mon)
- DH present (Mon) - D binder (Mon) - finish grocery shopping (Mon) - dentist 9.30 (Tues) - Bunny (Tues) - GP 5pm (Tues) - more Shitepile?

I have a stinky cold so my house is now decorated with piles of Kleenex. I haven't wrapped a single thing the baking is only half done. I am ready to go back to bed.
Dad did bring the tables by that we will use Christmas day. We are having 15 for dinner and always have a sit down dinner.

Dh took the kids to an indoor playground. I sorted and promptly discovered that we had a crapton of stuff for Cabe and only 1/2 a crapton for Keira. So we ordered some more stuff. Joy. Tonight, if I manage it after work, I'll be finishing up the gift card shopping. Those at least are easy to wrap and I can do those in front of the kids.
I'm at work today. Scheduled for tomorrow too.

I did a boatload of laundry this weekend, and emptied a few boxes. I started trying to organize my laundry room last night as it was a dumping ground for the "we'll find a home for that later" stuff. Of course my parents picked that time to stop by. Mom informed me that she waited all day for me to come over to help. Seems I was just supposed to know that they were cleaning up for Christmas and I should be there helping. Did you guys know I was psychic?! Me either....

Ouch Chocolate! I'd initially misread that, as in THEY wanted to come help YOU unpack LOL.

Nope, Mom thought I should be over there doing the emergency clean up for Christmas, which wouldn't be happening if Mom didn't hoard so much crap. <<sigh>> Dad did defend me and told her we were unpacking. It might have been better if he'd asked if I even knew that's what I supposed to be doing. Then again, she might have called me and we can't have that. Lol

Chocolate - I anticipate that's how my Christmas Eve is going to go. Arriving at Mom & Dad's and then being put to work. I am hoping they will at least clear off the guest room bed for me.
List:
Make sugar scrubs get rid of TV bench get rid of dishwasher soap (old stuff) pack presents in the car for next week pack roaster in the car for next week bag up stuff for goodwill rake up leaves
do laundry and put it away
steam clean guest room steam clean master bedroom steam clean office
steam clean living room
vacuum hallway
wrap presents and drop them off for J&N
bake cookies for Monday
Scotch Guard the couch
Still need to do a lot today (including the shitepiles) but I want to focus on cleaning the living room for my little party tonight. Which means I should finish cleaning up the front yard, the couch and cleaning the carpets. Joys.

I always get put to work upon arrival at Mom's, but to be in charge of helping her clean up her hoarding enough to have space to have Christmas........not so fond of that idea. I helped clean out her garage once, her car spent one night in there before it had too much stuff put in it. I told her the next time I clean it out, we're getting a dumpster or it'll be after her funeral. I'm not just going to rearrange to help make space for more crap.

Happy Christmas Eve to all of you! Even if your houses aren't perfect (yet), I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with family & friends.
As per usual, the tree is the last thing going up here today. But, we DO keep it up until the New Year, so we'll get to enjoy it for awhile.
I mentioned on another thread that I did my big grocery shop yesterday, which was good because amazingly the store was running out of some key items. (One of their big competitors closed down earlier this year, so I suspect they didn't order in enough for the extra business.)
Gotta run, so I hope you all have some time to relax & enjoy!

Merry Christmas all I'm spending a few hours planning all the projects I can do with my new table saw so when I'm back I'll be productive once again. 2015 looks like it's going to be busy with new projects!

I have no follow-through what-so-ever!!! But I am going to try again in 2015. My babies are no longer babies, so I need to convince my husband to start getting rid of baby things

Rukh, I think purging out a house is just like the old joke, "How Do You Eat An Elephant? One Bite at a Time"!
We got to see some extended family today, but I am totally exhausted. The kids are happy, & that makes ME happy.
As soon as I "recover" from today, it's back to work on the house.

I hope you all had a nice Christmas!
I've received a few Christmas cards from folks I didn't send one too, so today I'll need to write out a few more cards. Also, I need to work on general house cleaning, & the laundry is piling up again. Just because it's a holiday, doesn't mean the housework stops.

Hopefully today I will get the tree down and get the living room back in order. If I am really ambitious I will get some of the totes of Christmas stuff hauled back up into the attic.

I've thought about taking the tree down. But DD1's boyfriend is coming over later and wants to see it. I FINALLY got one bookshelf cleaned off! I mean, no books on it so I am going to put it on Craigslist. I am slowly decluttering. I have a lot more stuff than I realized and its bothering me. Plus I want to downsize in 3 years when DD2 and DS2 graduate. Maybe move to a different state. One that has a lower cost of living as my profession seems to pay the same no matter where I go.

I am hoping that now that the holidays are over and I am not working all my days off that I can get back to decluttering. For tonight I am going to go through a pile of paperwork that is sitting beside my computer. I know all of it can be trashed but I need to tear it up first.

We are back from the UK visiting DH's family. We had a really nice time with them. I've unpacked (although DH hasn't), put away the groceries (we always go to the supermarket there) and put away all but two of my gifts (because I'm wondering whether or not to regift them). I'm on my second load of laundry. We've been home for 1.5h. I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas! ETA: I'm also enjoying my two-week break from the dentist! Although the crowns are done, there's still more to do. I already have 3 appts scheduled for January. :-(
