As I begin this vent, I am really hoping it's positive. I find myself becoming angry so I'm going to focus on the positive things in my life. - I am loved by God and family.
- I am breathing.
- I have people in this group who care about my success.
- I have a roof over my head.
- My children are all healthy.
- My granddaughter is healthy.
- My car works.
- I have a job.
- My hair is growing.
- I know where my children are.
- My children are loved by me and others.
- I can see, hear, taste, and talk.
- I have all my limbs.
- I can make my own decisions.
- I have clean water.
- My washer and dryer works.
- My kids behave themselves.
- I have a phone.
- I can walk.
- I can drive.
- I know how to check my car's oil.
- I like the majority of the people I work with.
- My students like me.
- My kids are smart
- My kids are safe.
- My father is still living.
- I am educated.
- I've been out of the country.
- I know how to tie my shoes and a tie.
- I can sing loudly in the shower and my car and my kids sometimes join me.
- Most of my clothes still fit.
- I have a savings.
- My children can cook.
- I make quilts.
- I can feed myself.
- I can drink water.
- I have a computer that I can use to communicate with my friends.
- My ears are proportionate to my face.
- I like my feet.
- I have a pretty nose.
- My eyes are beautiful.
- My brothers and sisters are still alive.
- I know math.
- I can chose to walk away from someone else's anger.
- I know how to work a copy machine and several computer programs.
- I'm 46 and still look darn good.
What positive things can you say about yourself? (You can say more or less it's up to you) Thanks for being here for me when I need to vent and when I need help with my finances.

Sorry you had to add laundry to the above list and I hope you feel better soon.

I can join you in the positive affirmation, sealy. Sometimes, things get us down. It always helps me to remember to look at all the things in my life that are right, and that make me happy.

My mother is in a nursing home for Rehab at the moment. I really miss her and that's made me kinda sad; however, the staff called today. I'd left my cellphone in the car so didn't get the message right away. When I saw the number I freaked! Called them in a panic only to find out they'd discovered mother had a urinary tract infection and had put her on an antibiotic. Sometimes, even the bad stuff isn't near as bad as you think it's going to be.

I understand the feeling, sarahjese. We had to place my father. He was suffering from dementia and had begun to wander, leave the stove burners on, and other dangerous things. He ws only there a few months before he passed. I always wished we could have kept him at home, but it just wasn't safe. Mother, thankfully, isn't demented and, since she can't walk without a walker, and can't go far even with that, I'm able to keep her here with me. Her recent sinus infection and subsequent fall is what ended her up in rehab this time, but it doesn't look like she'll be there long. She may be home as early as next week.

YAY! Another positive. My lil ones (DS3 and DD) cleaned their bathroom. I went tell them goodnight and DS3 told me their bath was clean. On top of that my dog stopped barking. I'm excited my dog isn't barking not about what's going on with your parents. I just reviewed my post and didn't want anyone to think the wrong thing.

Despite our hellish year, DH and I have been completely showered in love & encouragement by everyone, including the wonderful people here Our medical bills were paid in full by very generous friends, family, and anonymous angels. DD went potty this morning completely un-prompted! Her diaper has been dry since she woke up. And...it's FRIDAY

Without even seeing your thread.
I had the most awesome lunch today. It's a regular place I go. Got the regular dish I get.
But compared to as good as it usually is, it was flippin awesome!
So, I waited to talk to the manager, maybe owner. I'm sure a counter service restaurant like this gets 99% complaints from people who want to talk after they've eating.
Hopefully I made her day.

My go-to quote:Last night, my wife did the hand wringing, emotional drama about my parents being hurtful and annoying. I thought I responded pretty admirably. But was still left with a general woe-is-me attitude.
Then, immediately after, I find out one of the families my kids dance with.... Lightning strike. House burnt down.
1. I've got rhythm. 2. I've got music. 3. I've got my gals. Who could ask for anything more.

I'll do a little negative/positive venting.
1. I have a messy house/I have a nice, safe place to live. 2. My gardens are a wreck/my gardens look great most of the time. 3. I have very little food in the fridge/I have money to buy groceries. 4. I have to work during the shutdown/I am employed doing work I love and will be paid eventually. 5. My professional clothes are pretty tight and I need to go on a diet/I am well fed. 6. I couldn't sleep in today/I went to the electronics recycling event early and got through it quickly. 7. My dog has been seriously ill for 4.5 years and has expensive treatment/she is doing well and has a lot of energy. 8. Time and money are considerations for just about everything/I have enough time and money to do the important things. 9. I don't see my kids as often as I'd like/they email or call regularly and we are all very close. 10. I am training to walk a half marathon, and I dread the long training walks/I am physically able to do this.
Okay, going to work on #1, #2, and #3...

Positive:
1. Momma Bear is actively looking for her own place 2. I have been invited to apply for a PTK scholarship. 3. I am headed for the Dean's List! 4. Cute neighbor (aka Mr. Bear) hasn't run for the hills since meeting me. 5. My lamb steak turned out beautifully. 6. I am losing weight. 7. My to do list is getting shorter even if it doesn't feel like it. 8. The interest rate on my next vehicle will be much lower.

mmhmm, I know EXACTLY what you mean. Usually when Mom's nursing home calls, it's not good news. So, I'm thankful when the main switchboard called me today, that Mom had forgotten my telephone number, & was a little lonely, & just wanted to talk to me. I don't know if I should be thankful, or worried about this next one. I was in a bookstore to try & sell them some of Mom & Dad's old books, & I had THREE different guys with gray hair (customers) trying to flirt with me. (Mine is blonde with a sprinkling of gray.) Is that good, or bad? Nice to know they think I've retained my looks, but I guess they missed the wedding band I was wearing...
