We know she was abused and kicked to the curb a mere 24 hours before delivering her pups.
We'll never know exactly what happened to her. So sometimes we get taken by surprise like with her reaction to me drying her off.
She's also terrified of baths. We found that out last year when she stayed at Pet Smart. We booked a bath but they had to cancel it because Charlotte was trembling so bad they were concerned about her mental well being.
They asked us about it and we said this would have been her 1st bath with us as owners. If we had known we wouldn't have tried.
We got some doggy wet wipes she doesn't seem to mind. We're going with that for the time being.

Dear former owner, You surrendered your dog today. The rescue told you we were full, and you replied, "I guess she's on her own, then". Since we were afraid you would just her outside somewhere, I agreed to foster her. You adopted this dog from a different rescue, because we turned you down a year ago since we found you had given away a cat you adopted from us, in violation of the contract you signed. Someone looked at your Facebook page today, and there is a touching meme on it about how you would never give away your dog, because they are family. Well, I guess you divorced this young dog.
Signed, She's better off without you.
I’d so love to call him out on FB

She's our soul doggy. When I first saw her picture it was like we were looking at Midnight.
I think it was meant to be. Everyone wanted her babies we were the first ones to want mama. The shelter was thrilled they really wanted her to get a good home too.

I'd want an older dog next time too. I don't want to fool with puppies anymore. Plus I'm a sap, so there's that.

Lucy is my 2nd adult cat adoption. I'm done with kittens. They have too much energy and are too destructive.
After 7 years of sharing my home with Lucy, I still have yet to figure out why she was returned. The paperwork was ambiguous so I thought I was taking a chance with her. All's well that ends well for us.

Same with Macy. I mean, I know she was returned for nipping their kid, but if you just love her, she's so sweet! It's way more laid back at my house since I don't have little kids. She must have been pretty agitated to do that, because we've had unsupervised kids at the dog park run up on her and fling themselves on her to hug her and she's been fine. She really just looked at me like "get it off me" and stood still. She'd never bite anyone unless provoked. She's just so cuddly and loving. I adore her. But then again, I'm her person, so I'm a bit biased.

The way great niece would approach Lucy, I thought she might nip at her. She always approached her from the face and I could see fear in Lucy's eyes. That may have been the issue. Since I taught great niece to play appropriately with her using a wand toy, I'm not worried that she will nip.
She has never nipped me or tried to.
Yes, I'm Lucy's person and will be, I hope, for many years.

Fritzie is finally starting to scratch at my 9 year old. he's, um, rambunctious with her. We've been talking and explaining to him since July when we got her on how to be nice to her and pet her and leave her ALONE when she meows at him. She's doing everything she can to tell him "enough" and now she's scratching at him and he's finally starting to get it. I'm not blaming her at all.
ETA - he's not seriously hurt, just minor scratches that should heal within 48 hours.

Lucy was giving Great Niece the look and the meow. However, she doesn't live here, so it was pretty easy for me and her parents to keep an eye out on Lucy's reaction.
Maybe Lucy's first people had young children that they thought they couldn't trust. I will never know and it's okay. She isn't with them any more.

Genetics suck!!!
Having to have 2 root canals done and having maxed out my Dental for the year was not on the plan! - at least not this early.
I just know I will look like a chipmunk for a few days.

Your grocery store puts out a weekly flier with prices starting Friday. I get home and find some items were Saturday/Sunday only.

And speaking of the office........ Dear "K", No, turning on the teary waterworks and leaving the office in a crying huff yesterday will impress no one. Someone did not agree with your opinion, my little princess? So you figured you would cry your way out of it? Grow the eff up.

I am handling it with OTC painkillers. They seem to be doing a really decent job. In case it gets bad I do have something else I could take.

Dear IT people,
Someone in FINANCE should not be able to do your job better than you. Should not be able to point out the crap you do wrong and the absolutely insane stuff you do. And I really don't appreciate how people want to go after me for doing my reports wrong when it's the data that's wrong that I had nothing to do with!!!! Gah. This is so annoying how frequent this happens.
