I am so relieved! Mom's place sold and I do not have to pay for the lot fee and any utilities this month. Paperwork was finalized the last week of September. I want to believe that Mom would have been pleased to have things done and finalized around her birthday.

Dear local retirees, I do not care anymore. The amount of energy you spend belly aching, complaining, and bitching really could be better utilized elsewhere. At your age, you should be thankful you're alive. Why not volunteer at a place where you feel welcomed? Maybe go pet the puppies or kittens at the local shelter? Serve food to those in need? Hang out with people your age whom cannot get out and about? What a waste of our precious time on this earth. Iggy

We say the same thing.

I do wish people had the decency to say thank you when you mail them a baby gift.
My sister and I decided mom would have wanted our youngest cousin and son of mom's favorite sister to have one of the baby afghans she knitted and gave as gifts to the first born of her nieces and nephews.
When I mailed it, it had tracing on it. It was delivered. Nothing from cousin so I sent him a message on FB. All he did was acknowledge it was received and that baby is growing. I know your mother taught you to say thank you. Two words, that is all I want.

I dislike it when I send someone's child a graduation gift card after receiving their announcement, for instance, and you never hear a peep from them.

I'm still waiting for a thank you for the check I wrote for an August 11th wedding. They certainly cashed the check. What's funny is that her mother was all upset about her former daughter in law not writing her thank you notes.

It took them months to cash the check I sent when they got married. In fact, I had to ask them to cash it. They did send thank yous after they cashed the check

My dad just kept throwing us blizzards on his birthday when we were living in Beverly. I think he was telling us to move. We did.

Mine have not been sent either. I haven't had a single free weekend since then. My DH wants to help so I can't exactly do a few at night either since we haven't had time to move me into his house either. Yes, I know some people are probably complaining. It's on my list and I only have so much time in a day.

It ended up being a good release for a lot of built up emotions.

I cannot bring myself to have that many Santas around me anymore or I'll lose it.

Mom had so many Christmas decorations. When they moved here to a one bedroom apartment, there was no way she could store all the decorations. So the ones she said she didn't want, my sister and I went through.
You guessed it. Come Christmas she wanted the blue ornaments. They were from a tree in our childhood and we had tossed those. We talked her in to some of her Hallmark ornaments that we had saved and some that were in the apartment.

No grousing from anyone for few days? Maybe that's a good thing. OK, so here goes: Dear volunteer, You said you wanted to run this event. I lined up other volunteers to work under you. Now that it's actually time to get moving, you are no where to be found.

Amazon. And probably under $10. Ohhh.... Iggy <3 CL!!!! Way back when I had a phone that quit charging because something in that tiny hole broke so I bought a spare battery AND a "free standing" charger for that kind of battery so I could keep on using the phone.

They were decorative and not needed to run the phone so tape it was. Yay!!!

The back isn't seating properly, so it's faking out the battery at this point... Sigh...

Or you could get a new case to hold it in place if you can't stand the tape idea.

If it's an older phone, maybe ask for one that someone's not using on freecycle. Then you can change out the case.

The battery is expected to arrive tomorrow, so I'll see if that works. Meanwhile, I'm going to finally order a new phone. If it weren't for work, I wouldn't have succumbed to this whole smart phone thing a few years ago...

Dear Google customer service rep,
Your auto dialer calls here numerous times a week. We have a Google listing which works just fine. The last time I spoke with one of you, you tried to upsell me with a cost. We don't need your services. Don't tell me you don't have a call list and don't threaten to remove us permanently from Google if we don't comply with your marketing scheme.
Signed,
Have you not heard of DoNotCall.gov??

Since it’s never a person you can’t even ask to have yourself removed. I block the calls but it’s no use.

I have all calls go to my answering machine. I have the ringer turned off on my phone, messages just get left and when I feel I want to I'll listen to them. This has cut down the crap calls about 99%.
