snapdragon - if you have already accepted a reduced price from someone, why do you have to take less? Because my mom lived in a different state and I don't have the money to pay for these "cosmetic" upgrades and I am paying over $600 per month for the lot and utilities and insurance. And there was never any money to do these projects to begin with. The MHP can block the sale of her place if they really want to be nasty and I would be on the hook paying until next June --- which would not be good. There was not any insurance to balance out her debt. I kept trying to talk her into getting a apartment and she refused to even think about getting rid of her stuff to be able to fit in a 2 bedroom. Than she never would have needed to worry about upkeep and maintenance.

So do you own the mobile home or are you just in charge of handling your mom's estate? What would happen if you walked?
That was my plan before my parents paid off the house. I was going to walk and let the bank have it. I don't hold the mortgage and I don't hold the deed so it's not my problem. They could try to scare me into paying but at the end of the day that's all it would be, scare tactics.
If it wouldn't hurt you I say let the lot manager have it. He wants it a certain way he can maintain it and try to sell it.

Drama --
Mom bought the MH and owned it out right. The issue is that it's in a 55+ park. So she paid lot rent.
Let's just say I would fantasize about burning all of her stuff. I would never do that but it was a great stress reliever mentally. When she originally moved to Oregon it took 2 moving trucks and over $6000 because she refused to get rid of possessions including her mom's castoffs.

She's dead and from the sound of it had no estate so there is nothing to go after. I'd naturally consult a lawyer before I went that far. It just seems like an awful lot of stress for you over something that isn't going to benefit anyone besides the ahole lot owner.

I signed a agreement like 2 days after she passed ( I was loopy and didn't ask a lawyer first) and since I am the Personal Representative on her will I could be sued. I have a lawyer and am in the wait period of closing her estate. Once the house is gone than that will be a huge relief mentally.

snapdragon my parents were the same way. I am always cleaning/throwing things out because I don't want my kids to deal with stuff like this. Unfortunately, my kids don't see a problem with hoarding. I'm thinking that they will find out soon enough.

What is it with people not cashing checks? Drives me nuts. I'm sorry. I just haven't made it to the bank yet. 😔😜 I want the cash and just haven't made it cross town yet. I plan to today at lunch if that helps the people that have the checks I'm holding...

What is it with people not cashing checks? Drives me nuts. Send me one and I can assure you I will cash it post haste.
But I know where you are coming from. Can you just call them and ask if they will cash it - you are thinking about closing that account - might get their attention!!

I'm thinking that they will find out soon enough. Thankfully my Dad is not nearly as bad as Mom was. But he has a rather large house. It's not crammed full or anything but there will be plenty of things that will have to be sold/donated. Most of it furniture. I am attempting to get more things out of my place and it's just slowed down right now. I know I have things to get rid of I just can't manage to do it due to having Mom's things in the way right now.

The estate sale went well from what I have been told. All the furniture except the dinning room table sold! I don't want to know how much was donated. I'm sure it was quite a bit.

Dear Tech, thank you for the five gallons of gas that you put in my tank. I didn't I still 1/2 of a tank left from when I filled up before Irma.
Apparently about 25 yrs. ago his house almost burnt down because of gas left in a gas can and it makes him nervous to have gas hanging around.

Dear (I wish you were my ex-) SIL, The tax nightmare is almost done. Almost a year of this crap, $1,200 paid to an attorney and CPA to fix this mess, because you are a such a piece of work. Our personal return will be filed tomorrow, and although we did have to pay some taxes on the inheritance, we get to keep most of it. Yay us! As for you, if you think you are going to get me to send you any of the IRS paperwork when those government letters start coming your way (as my CPA tells me they will, demanding tax payment, plus interest and penalties on your share), you have another think coming. Although my CPA says I cannot legally withhold the paperwork, I will. You will repay my attorney and CPA fees, you soggy little slob. I did this to save your boozing butt. Signed, Waiting for the day the IRS slaps a lien on your place.

dear YMAM, thank you for being here. tonight, in another forum, after listening to a poster who in previous days has made an OP railing against abortion, but in the comments declares himself pro-choice but can't understand why anyone would choose an abortion......who then tonight makes an OP complaining about teenagers trick or treating, and then in the comments declares his house as "the one that doesn't run out of candy", among other similar trends. I'm feeling like a kid in confessional when I say that the Halloween post set me off. I posted a beautiful YMAM worthy smackdown, that didn't personally attack but still called out every piece of his bullshit, and his immediate response was to tag a moderator and whine about personal attacks. cue the super huge awaiting my possible punishment.... -an unrepentant chiver. ETA: a moderator has chimed in with a gif of Forrest Gump, waving on the shrimp barge (or whatever it was). so said punishment may arrive tonight as I'm heading to bed. tomorrow's busy anyway, so whatever. maybe I'll take this cue to leave and find a better use of my time than to listen to more whiners.

Sheesh. If I had been on that forum and read his post, I would have assumed his multiple personalities were posting and asked, "Sybil is that you?"

yeah, the moderator came in to say that she needed the forum owner to review further. um, quoting someone's own words to point out their hypocrisy is not a personal attack. I was "muted" for 24h. yawn. I left the group. all set, tyvm.

Dear boss, If something in the organization changes and I am one of the dozen or so people that would be affected maybe it would be a good idea of flowing that information down to me directly rather than trusting I find out through the grapevine and I'll come to you for confirmation. Especially since an inadvertent mistake from my side could potentially lead to seven figure fines...
Just sayin', a very exasperated minnion
