When you portray conversations with a 2 year old *this* way, it really does reveal how bizarre they can be.

OKk, I watyched it again and I still don't get it! IF you are laughing from the fact that lil gal played by grown up man - I don't get why is it funny. Why? Or father was funny? Idk...

Because little girls saying these sorts of things get a free pass, but if the same words coming out of a grown man sound really creepy.

Loony, you can't tell me that at some point you didn't have a conversation with your daughter at that age where she was completely serious about something that wasn't? A 2 year old telling her father that no, he can't talk to mommy right now because she's the princess and she's talking to her and being completely and utterly serious is very amusing. You just can't argue with a child that age because there is no way you're gonna win. This guy just took that situation and by using a grown man to play the daughter showed just how helpless a grown up can feel when confronted with an adament 2 year old.

Haha!!! Wait till they get to the "WHY" phase, drove my parents bunkers!!! I am so there right now with my 2.5 year old. His favorite two questions: "WHY?" "What's that do?" We do endless trips down the "why" rabbit hole until mommy gets to a point where "because I said so" seems like a valid answer. I try to avoid that, but sometimes toddler logic only goes so far!

"Why" is just code for "I don't understand and I'm trying to figure it out." It isn't a literal "why."

Read The Honest Toddler A child's guide to parenting if you want a really good laugh. She has a blog and facebook as well.
Toddlers are some funny people.

I know, that's why I try to put myself in toddler place an explain things as simply as I can to help paint the picture he's looking for. Sometimes I just can' help but say "because I said so" even though it's my explanation of last resort. Sometimes, when we are driving in the car, I'll get a "why" from the backseat and explain something (what windmills are for, as an example). Funny thing is, if DH is in the car with us, DS will then proceed to explain to his dad what I just explained to him - in toddler speak, of course. It's too funny.

When my son was in the "what's that?" phase, I was getting him dressed one morning when he handled his penis and asked me what it was. I replied "Honey, that is your penis". He looked me right in the eye and said "I looooove it!"

Believe it or not...I had never had anything remotely close with my daughter and never ever heard of any child speaking like that. I am finding it unnatural. But you know me.
