In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1988 President Reagan designated the First Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In June 2007 (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama declared that the USA "Was no longer a Christian nation." --------------------------------------------------------------- This year President Obama canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse Of "not wanting to offend anyone" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BUT... on September 25, 2009 from 4 AM until 7 PM, a National Day of Prayer FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION was Held on Capitol Hill, Beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims in D.C. that day. HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS! I guess it doesn't matter if "Christians" Are offended by this event - We obviously Don't count as "anyone" Anymore. The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted, they should be annihilated. I think it would be best for the country to stick to the constitution and not have the establishment of religion. Who cares if the prez prayed with Muslims?

Where is the news in that statement, desi? Something tells me that if I said aspirin was good for a headache you'd find some way to include a fault in it.

It says that there shall be no State religion. The "separation of Church and State" as we know it today has its orgins in the 1947 Everson v. Board of Education case.

Most American would have a problem with making the 10 commandments law so I don't think you need to worry about sharia law.

Etc. etc. etc. This old chestnut is still circulating. urbanlegends.about.com/od/barackobama/a/national_day_of_prayer.htmusgovinfo.about.com/od/thepresidentandcabinet/a/did-obama-cancel-day-of-prayer.htmThe below information usually accompanies the email in post #1. This is OUR President at the “Islamic Prayer Day” session LAST WEEK AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Oh yes, Obama prays all right:WITH THE MUSLIMS!!
This is OUR President at a MOSQUE prayer session LAST WEEK AT THE WHITE HOUSE, on the site where the Inauguration is held every 4 years!
He cancelled OUR CHRISTIAN “NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER”…Now ..THIS. For Obama to continue as our president is an INSULT TO OUR FOUNDING FATHERS!" The problem with the picture is that it is a photo of the President entering The Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009 while on a two-day state visit.

Wow, they can't quote clip right. At least say "no longer..." "Was" doesn't make sense. urbanlegends.about.com/od/barackobama/a/national_day_of_prayer.htm"Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation — at least, not just; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers." It's not our Fault you were Too paranoid To fill In the Census. Hooray for random Words Being capitalized! It's not surprising something like this was started in the 50's. I don't remember a "National Day of Prayer" being mentioned. It doesn't seem like a big deal if we have it or not. Well it's good for curing a headache, so I'd posit that it's bad for a headache and makes it go away.

Obama is only trying to wear two hats....(1) Christain, and (2) Muslim but that act may not play in Peoria... Christain want him to be more Christain and Muslims want him to be more Muslim...so he is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't...
My personal opinion is that Obama is a Christain for political purposes but probably is a closeted Muslim
Hey Henry Clay Welcome aboard and Semper Fi......and just avoid the usual taunts from our resident liberals who are upset that Lakhota left in a huff because he was not afforded "Special Treatment" here..I guess??

Mr. Clay, consider the fact that this poster once said he would submit to Muslim Sharia in the US if they had gained a voting majority and democratically voted in Muslim candidates. Truly shocking. I would not, however, and would fight them until every last one of them were dead. They can keep their Sharia in the Middle East, it does not belong here or in any other western country.
