Here I am reading my Sunday paper ( hard copy no link) and I read about this group of death row inmates who are suing the FDA because the FDA allowed states to improperly import the drugs that are used to put them to death. Their lawyer stated (according to this article) that "this is not about halting executions, but about ensuring that illegal drugs are not used in carrying out otherwise legal executions". Now for the record I am against the death penalty, but this has me totally confused. If it is not about halting executions what are all those appeals about? And if it is about halting executions, what does the country of origin of the drugs have to do with anything? Anyone want to enlighten me here It is Sunday morning and my brain should not be taxed this much on a beautiful day...

I guess it might be considered poetic justice if the drugs are being illegally imported (and it's a big IF, since there's no link confirming that they are) - since the inmates committed illegal acts to get them onto death-row to begin with.
I really can't follow their (the inmates') rationalization - since if their execution ever takes place, what difference would it make which drugs (or other means) was used to carry out the sentence?

Well the FDA checks out drugs to make sure that they are safe. We wouldn't want to make any of those guys sick for that second or two that it takes for them to die, now would we.
If it were me & I was running the show I would just walk by at the right time & shoot them.

It's not as if drugs can't be legally obtained for their scheduled executions. Not a single one of them (probably) is scheduled for execution tomorrow.
A link though would be nice.

I Googled this part and got a load of stuff off of Google.

Ironic isn't it that these people committed murders, and are themselves afraid of dying.

And the justice system is (when they carry out executions) is giving them a fairly humane death (like putting an animal to sleep) with an injection.
If their sentence is because of a murder they committed, I wonder how humanely they carried out the act on their victim(s).
A firing squad - without blindfold for the prisoner - would be more fitting (IMO).

We should circle around them and get to throw stones at them until their brains leak out of their heads and their bodies are nothing but jeillied smears on the ground.
