Thai food. Pud Thai and Red curry. Ah, the sauce in Red curry is to die for.

I like sashimi. it's much easier to manage without the rice. In the nigiri-style preparation, it's awkward for me to bite off a managable amount, since the pieces are almost always beyond bite size. Our dog calls the catbox treats "kitty roca" because of the resemblance to the almond stuff. she has the same after-effect issues.

Salmon sashimi with ikura[salmon roe], pickled ginger, daikon radish, seaweed salad and wasabi is my absolute favorite meal. It costs about 4 dollars for 2 pieces so it's pricey if I'm really hungry. I've found it's cheaper if I go to Whole foods store or the Asian market and buy 'sushi' grade fish. I eat it at least 4 times per week for more than 5 yrs and not have had any GI problems or food poisoning.

Not to gross anyone out, but when they are in the yard they are tootsie-rolls, when they are out of the box they are kitty roca. Think about it.

Good sashimi is usually served as paper thin slices of Ahi. The best can be found in Hawaii. I wonder why?

I've seen a dog drag and eat a loaded baby diaper out of the garbage.... I am impressed with the caliber of EE posters! There is an argument that 50% or less of the nation knows WTE sashimi is..... You guys seem to not only know, but are able to hold a 2 page discussion on it. This is a proud day for IG..... Well, Japanese food is popular, so I don't see how half the country wouldn't know what sashimi is.

::I don't see how half the country wouldn't know what sashimi is. :: Half the country couldn't find their ass with a map and a miner's cap on. And that's the story of why we have red states. (Bis cracks herself up but is now scared of Tina)

Hells no. I barely put any wasabi or soy on sashimi. The flavors are fairly delicate so wasabi and soy can completely overpower them.

Well, Japanese food is popular, so I don't see how half the country wouldn't know what sashimi is. Come visit me, I can guarantee that 95% of my local population has no idea what sashimi is. I was one, until I was enlighted by this thread. Pfft, everyone says EE is a waste, but I learned something very important today. And apparently I have had sashimi, I just thought I was eating sushi.
