Love this. I'm really mean, though. If this had happened when I was a server, I would have just nodded and played along like nothing was amiss. But let's just say that all their food would have experienced some, um, interesting sanitary practices.

Love this. I'm really mean, though. If this had happened when I was a server, I would have just nodded and played along like nothing was amiss. But let's just say that all their food would have experienced some, um, interesting sanitary practices. I'll be the first to admit that while I am pretty laid back until I'm wronged. I don't take well to being screwed over- and since I'm ADD, and the last thing I need is the chore of all the detail of changing accounts, getting a new license, cancelling credit cards, and all the general worry that some criminal knows where I live and is still running around with all that info...AND I lack the self discipline not to screw with someone like this. Oh, I'd call the police and everything, and I'd play up and up for awhile, but they'd be the third person on my very own version of a sh** list which I affectionately refer to as my "special projects" list. You have to earn a spot on it, and once you're on it- I'm going to f*** with your life for the rest of one of our lives. I won't go into detail, but there are two people who thought it'd be a good idea to mess with me- one who out and out stole money from me, and it's not going well for these folks. A lot of the crap that happens to them, they think is just 'life happens' kind of stuff, other things they have no doubt who it is. The guy that stole money- I sue him about every two years just because. I've dragged him to court for slander because I heard he told someone something. I lose, but guess who has to defend himself? Guess who can't afford an attorney? And I don't have to show up-- I just write a check every once in awhile for someone to go pounce on him. I sued him in 9 seperate lawsuits in two Illinois counties for each instance that he took money out of our joint business account- and I did it with days to go before the statute of limitations. The other guy is just some weasel that pissed me off on a message board- found out my real name and made it real easy to sue him for slander and one case of tortuous interference. He thought it'd be fun to be a dick, and he thought "outing" me for whatever it is he thought I was doing would be a good idea-- but dropping my name all over just made it easy to sue him. And btw- you're NOT anonymous on a message board. He found out- you can and will be found by the right a**hole.

I once sued a homeless man when I stumbled over him in the subway. Then I choked his dog to death and sued him again for the strain on my hands. Now I send him photos of dead dogs every year just because. And last yea... wait. Why am I telling this story again?

I actually think WCPaul is warning us not to threaten or out him. I am too scared to respond now.

Speaking ID theft, I was printing out my tax return today and I couldn't get it to print for some reason.
After restarting and trying again, it prints and I put it in an envelope to mail when I get home.
A few minutes later, I get a call from a co worker saying that some tax returns with my SS# on it printed out on his desk printer. Apparently I selected the wrong printer from the menu .
At least he was nice enough to let me know and shred them.

I'm still trying to figure out if Virgil really thinks that licking the fork of someone who stole your driver's license and caused you countless hours of work is equivalent to suing a homeless guy and choking his dog to death because he caused you to trip... But yeah, Paul - and yep, I'm using your name - you're being a little crazy.

I don't care if you 'out' me for whatever it is you think I am, or whatever it is you think I've done. I don't get fussy until people start costing me money, and both people in question started messing with the money flow. And when you mess with the flow, you got to go.

Paul, that sounds lime an awful lot of energy to expend on another person. I don't spend too much time and energy on it. I'm ADD, so I can't stay focused on it for that long anyway. At first, I didn't really have enough money to waste on it- so I just put it in the administrative tickler of the "special projects" folder and forgot about it. I only thought about it tonight because reading the story of this ID thief served as kind of a trigger. In that case, I'm honestly not sure if I would have the self discipline not to throttle the person right then and there. Handing me my own ID? I just don't know how I'd deal with that- I'd like to think it's possible I could stay cool. I know in my head that's the right call- I just don't always deal with stuff like that well. And while I'd normally agree with you, however, in each case it was and is not 'revenge' for its own sake. Both cases had cost me money, and both posed a potential on-going threat which had to be neutralized and they both needed to be put in their place. For the longest time my crooked former business partner pushed things way too far, and he's never made an attempt to make amends with anyone and he has sworn 'revenge' (still not sure how revenge against the person you screwed over in the first place works) himself, so until (and btw he knows my terms) he can humble himself and apologize to me and swear off any further idiocy himself, I can never let him get into a position to cause me problems. So, once every so often on a schedule, I arise from my slumber, crawl out of my den, and pounce by writing a check to someone to go make him miserable and remind him it can all stop when he pulls his head out of his ass and abandons the idea that he'll ever get the better of me. The other guy? He still lurks about- much more subdued and well behaved now. That's all I ask- a little contrition. Pretty much if you leave me alone, and I am confident you'll continue to do so- we're all good. And if you want to get nasty and name call and lob bombs into all my threads- great. Have at it. I can take whatever you got and it all just rolls off. But when you go to someone I'm doing business with, or you broadcast to others that I'm not someone people should do business with- what do you expect me to do?

Think about it- if I recover $100: According to my Phil Script, a lump sum investment of $100.00 bearing an annual return of 11% could grow to $2,289.23 in 30 years! I'm gonna let some lazy bum that needs to get a damn job cost me almost $2,300 bucks? Nay! Nay, I say to thee!
