Low carb diets suck. I'm watching what I eat - but I did have an oreo on Sunday.
And I had broccoli Sunday and yesterday. Peas tonight - I love peas - they are the best!!!

Tonight I will probably have salmon and salad. Then around 9pm I will open the snack cabinet and eat the kid's Goldfish and Oatmeal Debbies. (But it's okay because the kids told me that's not dessert....it's oatmeal!)

At least they are not talking about the Packers winning the Super Bowl. Being a Bear fan in WI is soooo much fun.

Tonight I'm meeting my class group about a project, so dinner is a PB&J sandwich and a banana.

Jen, how is it going? I know you mentioned you'd rather not have two semesters, but are you enjoying it?

I will say that "diets" with constant denial are unsustainable. But, if you are using a period of time to try and change your habits and system and then are planning on adding back the occasional treat, but hold onto the new good habits, you might be okay.
The best thing to do is to sub-out specific bad habits one at a time. It takes a lot longer, but may have a higher success rate. If you are craving sweets, eat an apple. High in fiber and sweet - they are a great snacking substitute. If you want ice cream - try cutting up a banana and putting milk and a small amount of sugar on it. Cold, wet and creamy like ice cream - but much less fat and calories.
Just denying yourself baked goods, you will hit a wall. I hope you have an alternative so you can get through days like today.
Good luck and may the force be with you.

POM, I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed at the workload. I wish I just took one class, seeing as each class has about 100 pages of academic readings per week. As long as I read 1-2 readings a day I should be able to handle it, but I feel like I have no life now. The house is an honest-to-God pig sty, I've been too tired to work out, and I can't seem to sleep well (also due to the baby growing). I already read during my lunch hour and before each class. Some nights I have no energy, but I still have to muster up some to read for at least an hour (I'm not a fast reader, but I'm fast learning to be one). Sigh. After this, I'm taking one class a semester.

Yes. Whenever I see their posting (along with Chocolate Lover) I think of the movie "Mean Girls." I bet they have a burn book.

With working full time and having a new baby coming that just seems so overwheming for anybody! (((Hugs))) <<POM hides her burn book from Thyme>>

MM, those cupcakes look so cute! Are you going to do fancy one for DS's party?
Thyme....MM and CL are really quite mean. You gotta watch out for those two.
I'm just trying a short period of deprivation.....though I seem to be trying it daily and it lasts about 6 hours, so it's REALLY short. I've put on a bit of weight that I'm not happy about and it really must go.
