Nothing around here. There's one place that will send me a postcard saying if I come in and spend money they will give me 10% off. Nothing is free here.

Ice cream, appetizers at one restaurant, dinner at another, free cosmetics...quite a few chains offer the perks. On the old site, Donna did a story called "20 Freebies on Your Birthday," but I cannot access it. I do not see anything similar on her blog.

The trouble with having a late December birthday is that 1) there's already a lot of year end offers we receive, 2) weather can be really cruddy for trying to eat out, and 3) we're usually so busy just with Christmas stuff or family visiting, that we don't have a chance to use the coupons. I wish I had been born in the month of May. That's a nice month, weather-wise.

Mos of the so called free offers I got last month were free with purchase. I don't consider that "free"!

Not free, but if you're in Chicago, the restaurant Carnivale will send you an e-mail for $25 off a purchase of min. $50 to use during your bday month. You just need to sign up for their e-mails. Not much is free downtown and dinner for 2 there is $50 so it's not a bad deal for a nice restaurant!

I have a local Amish furniture store that mails me a coupon to come in a get a free jar of jam on my birthday.
Red, Hot, and Blue sent DH a coupon for a free entree under $9.99 during his birthday month.

Mexican food restaurant has free birthday meal. Of course, who goes alone? Free dessert with a meal at a couple of places.
One 2nd hand store sends a $5 coupon.

Last year I got a free hamburger at Red Robin, one at Rubys, and one at Fuddruckers. I also got a free tiny cone (ok, they called it "small" but it was like 5 bites) from Baskin Robbins. I think I either got a free meal or % off voucher for California Pizza Kitchen but I didn't use it. I may have also received a free entree from Black Angus. My birthday is in April so it was a while ago now...none the less, I made out pretty well I think! Also our local Hallmark shop offers 20% off and a free something during your birthday month. The something is usually like a small lower quality picture frame or address book or something like that--but its free so who is complaining? I usually end up donating it though.

$10 off $10 coupon from Bob's. I got some free undies and a shirt, since they were on clearance. Seriously, since when does underwear become last year's style?

I just had a birthday and went to Denny's for my free breakfast. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and bacon. All i paid for is my drink. I went to Red Robin for a free burger and fries and again, only paid for my drink. I had a very calorie laden birthday!!
