What's the quality of the water like where you are? Do you filter your drinking water, soften it, or use bottled water?

My water is quite hard, lime scale is a problem. I filter my drinking water, I really hate the taste of chlorine. I've seen all those studies which "prove" people can't tell any difference between tap and bottled water, but I think they're a load of BS. I sure can.

What's the quality of the water like where you are? Do you filter your drinking water, soften it, or use bottled water? Here in the SF Bay Area it's pretty good. That said, according to the Hetch Hetchy water system, there are traces of cryptosporidium which "can" be dangerous for those with a compromised immune system (cancer patients, etc.) I seriously doubt the concentrations are actually high enough to put someone with a compromised immune system at risk, it's more of a legal maneuver to "notify" people in case they want to sue the water department.

We are on a community well (approximately 20-25 houses). The water is quite good. Our refrigerator/freezer has a water dispenser with a filter, but I don't really taste any difference from tap water.

We have amazing water. (Oregon) Soft, clean and tasty. Right out of the North Santiam River. Cascades Mountain water.

I hate water that has been run through a softener. I know it cleans better, but I can't stand the taste and it feels slimy on my skin. It's also not healthy to drink.

Here in the City we have great water and can drink it out of the tap. In our camp we have even better water which is just slightly soft naturally and it tastes even better fresh out of the well.

The tap water here is drinkable, but I drink a LOT of water and just don't enjoy it because of the chlorine. It could be worse, at my uncle's place down at the southernmost end of the valley the tap water tastes of oil.

I actually don't know what the water at my house tastes like. I know it tasted bad at my ex's house (only about 10 miles away, in a different county, but same metro area), so I bought a filtered dispenser as soon as I moved in to this house and only drink from that, or bottled water, at home. Although come to think of it, I haven't changed the filter in a while, so it probably isn't very filtered by the time I drink it any more. But I usually mix it with one of those little Crystal Light packets, because I don't like to drink plain water most of the time.

Our water quality is good. We could drink straight from the tap but I like cold water so we use the water dispenser in fridge, it is filtered.

I use a Pur brand filter on the kitchen tap. It has an LED indicator light which tells me when to change the filter, about every three months.
