My students came back from Christmas wondering when the next holiday is. After we got past MLK Day, it is Spring Break, which is toward the end of March.
Seniors are worthless after Spring Break. That's why we are doing the research paper now.
I never look forward to spring.

It was sunny, and over 75 today. It was starting to get a little warm.

I don't get spring fever until March. We usually get one nice week before the rain comes back. Once the sun comes out though, every one starts screaming "vitamin D" and chaos ensues.

DS5 got his wish - we hit the Flurrious Fest on Saturday and he got to skate w/ DD3! DS4 and I watched DS2 playing Quidditch. I love the outrageous outfits they wear, especially when DS is snitching. The snowman building was a little sad - they were all less than 18" tall (the snow was not deep enough). There was also a foot race and a bike race; I never did find the sleigh rides. Now all this talk of Spring has brought in the rain and is melting all our pretty sparkly snow! Talk about dark and gloomy.

Busy, LMAO!!! The 30's give you spring fever? You are a tougher woman than I am. I'd be under the covers crying with those temps. Jen - It's in the 80's now. I hope it stays that way for you! I wish they'd change your location though. Yay, Teen! DS got his wish - at lease for a little bit!

POM - has your weather been as crazy up and down as ours? It was single digits last week, and should be near 60 in a day or two, then back to the twenties on Thursday! I swear it is never near average nowadays, just 10+ below or above average. The lake may not freeze again this year; that's not a good thing - once the lake freezes, the LES machine shuts way down. We are in the middle of blizzard season, after all. Pretty sure it is the anniversary of the blizzard of '77 today/tomorrow.

Teen, Are you in the south too? So far <<knocks on wood>> our crazy weather has mostly been within 20 +/- degrees day to day. What I don't like about this winter is that only the cold days are sunny and gorgeous and the warm days have been mostly overcast and gloomy. I want sunny for the warm days too! <----- Spoiled rotten.

The weather has been a serious rollercoaster all week. We were at below zero, now we're in the 30's, & by the end of the week we're supposed to be below zero again. I got a Gurney's catalog in the mail today!! I LOOOVE looking at plants & dreaming of springtime.

Was sunny and seventy-two degrees today. Normal high temperature is about 51+ for this time of year. I sat outside reading all day because the cable company took down our area's Internet, cable TV and phone service for maintenance. Electrical power was turned off too for several hours while the cable company was working.
Tomorrow it will be sunny and 75. Tomorrow night-severe thunderstorms with an isolated chance of tornadoes. Wednesday, high of 47.

80 degrees here today. Definitely feels like spring. Plus the pollen is starting to coat the cars.....a sure sign of spring.

High probability (60% chance) of tornadoes in a 50 mile radius here tonight. Late winter weather in west Tennessee-gotta love it. Reached 75 degrees today though!

I already started my seeds indoors last week and my basil is already starting to sprout. I figure we had our 1 week of "cold" weather so it is after the last frost. I'll grown them inside for a month or so until I'm certain they'll do ok outside.

Bump. Does it show? I added Virgil's new flowers emote to this thread. And my spring fever and shopping has not stopped since I've started this thread.

Yes, Sug, they finally thawed out without breaking. It's nothing but yoyo weather. Feep freeze and rain, deep freeze and rain. The city's water mains aren't quite so lucky. Some are a century old and can't stand up to the constant freezing and thawing. We have massive water main breaks now on a regular basis, with a lot of flooding. Another bigass snowstorm on the way, will probably start early Wednesday morning. I feel bad because I had to cancel a lunch date with my sister due to my being snowed in last week, and we postponed it til this Thursday. Looks like I may have to cancel again.

That's good that your pipes didn't break Welts.

POM-12 more days until Daylight Savings Time begins. Woo Hoo! Now it's after midnight so it's 11 more days. DH just changed our up-lighting timer to come on later too. We are going to refigure our lanai/patio area and add some more furniture and I can't wait! I just hope it matches what we have now enough so it looks good.

We are in the bleeping start of a freezing rain/snow slush storm here. It's going to be an awful slippery drive to work tomorrow for some commuters, thankfully I ain't one of them.
