Good article. My father cured his toenail fungus using a vinegar soak-took a while, but he avoided expensive drugs with their possible side effects. The fungus has not recurred.

I work finding new uses for things, but I work in health care and hydrogen peroxide is great but only for the first use, try diluting it 50-50 with water to reduce the sting. But after the initial use it eats the white blood cells that are trying to heal the wound and delays healing time, so if you continue to use it dilute it. or just use antibiotic soap and water(like dial)

My sister the dental hygienist says that when people come in for a swollen gum area, it's often...a popcorn hull that got stuck. Ow. After they remove it, they advise the patient to rinse with peroxide and water (again, 50/50) for one minute a day. Tastes yucky, though.

Instead of buying an over-the-counter remedy, I have used baking soda on a canker sore. FYI--it is a frugal way to heal it faster, but boy, it stings like heck!!
