Yesterday took bottle of Juicy Juice grape juice and read...26 grams of sugar per serving??? So juice that is supposed to be a healthy food will load me up with 5 spoons of sugar in one take? ANd then I will eat something else with sugar and then some and by the end of the day my body will be like YAHOO!!! sweet! Let's store access of it and see whats gonna happen!
Are we really trying to figure out where all these diabetic problems are coming from and having 26 gramms of sugar in a glass of juice?
Was it always this sweet and no one cared or it is a 'new trend' by juicemaking companies?

Many juices have significant natural sugars which is why babies shouldn't get apple juice in sippy cups. Many of the juices out there with the colorful names barely even have any juice in them so are sodas being called juice.

Fruit is healthy, not fruit juice. The actual grapes have fiber.

"So juice that is supposed to be a healthy food "
Juice is a neutral food at best, not a healthy food. That's why most nutritionist and pediatricians have been telling parents not to give their kids juice, or at least to limit the amounts to very small quantities as treats.

My one year old had juice for the first time yesterday. She finished a whole juice box and ended up vomiting all over my wife. It was like a scene from a cartoon. It just kept coming and coming and coming. Don't know how that much puke came from such a little girl. My wife also vomited from having so much vomit on her. It was something.

Fruit is healthy, not fruit juice. The actual grapes have fiber. We don't usually drink juice in our house and I don't give it my son. Since I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I don't touch juice with a 10 foot pole. No need to drink all my morning carb allowance away on a drink I don't even like that much.

A juice glass is 4oz the trouble is when people drink it in a water glass. Whole fruit is much better but orange juice can be part of a healthy breakfast in very limited amount.
Natural sugar is in fruit so it isn't added sugar and it contains nutrients so is worth having in small amounts. Serving sizes and fiber is the problem. I ate a pear yesterday, it was so big I should have made it 4 servings but I was in my car and ate the entire fruit. I am sure it spiked my blood sugar but it was all the carbs I had except soup later and I got protein and fiber to help offset it.

The only source of "juice is healthy" that I've ever seen is from Infomercials, Commercials, and the labels on juice and juice drinks. I've never read/heard from anyone credible that fruit juice is 'healthy'. I'm with Crone on the OJ... it's a 4ounce (maybe 6 ounce) serving and even then an actual orange would be better for you (it has fiber).
Don't get me started on the supposed healing properties of 'Cranberry juice' - or rather Grape Juice and a sweetner with a splash of cranberry juice (or maybe essense).

I'm kinda surprised that alcoholic beverages (beer/wine/hard liquors) haven't been put on the table for why American's are Fat... When my relatives complain about being fat - I suggest that maybe cutting back 2 or 3 adult beverages each day might help them loose some weight... it's not like they'd have to stop drinking completely.

I hate juice. I did drink cran-grape juice when I had kidney stones. But mostly it's gross. I make the kids drink water. Some milk. I am a horrible person and drink diet coke mostly.

IF you think sugar content is soo high just look at the sodium content of EVERYTHING you eat and multiply by your REAL serving size not the 1-2 oz the data is based upon.

Yeah, I know the exact reason why I've gained 5lbs recently. Trying to enjoy those dark beers before I get pregnant again. But those calories add up quick!!

It is absolutely wonderful, especially if you enjoy coffee. It has a deep, dark, bitter coffee flavor.

A woman at work was trying to talk someone into trying the delicious cookies that she brought in. The other lady said "I'm trying to eat healthier. I have some fruit back at my desk." And the first lady responded "Fruit - sheesh - that is full of sugar." LOL, technically correct.

A recent study showed U.S. adults get half their beverage calories from alcohol. For me personally it's more like 95%.

My vice is sweets. I rarely drink alcohol, don't smoke or drink sodas but I crave sugar on a daily basis. I do exercise and I am thin so for now I don't care that I eat something sweet everyday. Maybe I should but I don't ETA: Just ate a holiday cupcake

Same here. I give DD juice, but it is really watered down. I don't drink a lot of juice myself. Mostly I buy cranberry juice for mixed drinks, but I make sure to find 100 percent juice and not the "cocktail" juices, because those do have added sweeteners and tons more calories because of it.

Those cran-grape and other mixtures are worthless for kidney stones. The sugar in the other juice counters any benefit you may get from the cranberry juice. You have to drink the 100% cranberry juice with no added sugar for the benefits, and it is nasty! I can barely choke down a shot glass of the stuff. It's also a lot more expensive to buy--like $7-13 for a small bottle.

When my coworkers are really working my nerves, I consume high sugar foods. The buzz keeps me from noticing them.
