My husband and I are bored and have the 25th and the 26th off, as well as part of the 24th and 27th. We wanted to go somewhere over that time within driving distance of Buffalo, NY but cannot think of anywhere to go (that would be open). Any ideas?

My DH and I are going to Vegas for Christmas. I know, that's quite driving distance from Buffalo. What about Niagra Falls? Or Cleveland? The beauty of Vegas is that nothing ever closes, even for Christmas ;D

We used to live in Buffalo! Great town! Lots of local sites to take in there. Head to the Anchor Bar for some wings. Take in some local theater or plays. How about some winter sports or festivals? Hockey game? Bills game, etc? Lots to do in Buffalo.

Ok everyone, start chipping in and send Gin a few shovels so they can dig their way out of Buffalo and go on that mini vacation. If I have snow (Boston) for sure Buffalo will. Just say'n.

Gin: I am not allowed to go to Canada because I had contractions on Saturday. Say what!! My insurance won't cover birth in Canada, Canada has issues with people going to Canada for their "free" health insurance, therefore they do charge people from the US who go up there and need the health insurance. So, if I give birth in Canada it would cost me much more than we set aside for it, therefore, no going to Canada.

Starting at 36 weeks, my insurance only covered medical treatment at my Ob's office or the hospital they approved.

Check out the community calendars on one of the local tv station's websites. WGRZ and WIVB looked better than WKBW, but there's something on all of them. You might try Rochester's stations, too, if you might travel that far.
Some things I might try - the Falls, the casino, holiday lights at the Fatima Shrine, holiday music at some area church, the Botanical gardens, Broadway market, some holiday performance (Nutcracker?).

Go for a walk. I would stay close to home. Both of my kids arrived at week 37.
