You know the whole mayan calendar doomsday thing?
There was so much hype for a while, and now very little. What do you think will happen in the next nine days? Will it stay quite or will the doomsdayers come out in force next week?

There was a ton of crap about it then Mayan elders said it's all bull crap. I think they just had an issue which day it was suppose to happen. First I heard it was Dec. 21st then Dec. 23rd.. Then Nasa came out with nothing is going to align so forget about it. So that about sums it up and I still have to do my Christmas cards.

I am prepared with a bunch of jokes about it.
First, I have already told my husband that the last words he will hear are "G*d D*mn it - you never took me to Paris."
Second, I have some stuff I am going to post on facebook.
Third, I've already told my co-workers I'm not working too hard on some projects because the world is going to end before the due date.
Now, I just have to pick out the outfit I want to be wearing when the world implodes, and I'm good.

I'm about ready to wrap DH in tinfoil and stick him in the basement if he doesn't knock it off with the doomsday crap. I do have one condition, just in case. My mom and I might go shopping on the 21st and I told her there are certain stores I don't want to die in, so we won't be shopping at those stores. For instance I refuse to die in the Wal-mart parking lot. That's not how I want to go out.

Will it stay quite or will the doomsdayers come out in force next week? One of the strip clubs in the area has been offering “going out with a bang” lap dances. ;D

These doomsday prophecies always make me feel a little bit embarrassed for my species.

A friend of mine posted on facebook over the summer that because we've changed/adjusted the calender that based on the Mayan Calander it is actually like 2015. So, technically the world should have ended 3 years ago. I'm going to be pissed if I had to go through this entre freakin pregnancy and the world ends before I have the baby.

I saw those postings too - it was related to leap years. I thought the Mayan Calendar was regarded as very, very accurate. If so, wouldn't it have taken into account leap years?

For instance I refuse to die in the Wal-mart parking lot. That's not how I want to go out. Oh Lord, caught in the Walmart parking lot, loading a twenty pound vat of kitty litter into the back of my car while in the next car over a kid is wailing and his hillbilly mom is threatening to give him something to cry about - that would just be my damn luck...

I agree - that is why I never, ever shop there. I told DH if its an asteroid, I hope they give us enough time to get to where ever its going to hit because I want to be under it when it comes crashing down....I don't want to be around for the mess afterwards
