I ordered two sets of Angry Bird ornaments, one for the family tree and one for the tree my daughter decorates. I was happy to receive the package this weekend. I opened it up and there were two sets of Dora the Explorer ornaments inside, with an invoice that says Angry Birds. Last month I ordered some cute black sandals that were on sale, when they arrived, they were orange. A couple of months ago, I ordered a custom tee for my husband. The front print and graphic were correct, but the back print said follow some dude on Twitter, instead of what I wanted printed. I have many, many more examples. I do order a lot of things online, but it seems like way too many of my orders are wrong. So, is quality control just decreasing or do I have bad luck? I feel like I'm cursed.

You are buying during the holiday rush. This is the timed of year when the Internet merchants hire tons of inexperienced people who don't know who Dora is, and are color blind. (The local Amazon warehouse hires so many people for the holiday rush that people are living in campers at the local camp ground.) What the heck, the rush will be over and they'll be gone by the time anyone figures out they are screwing up.

The order pickers probably don't speak English, or the company has a clause that allows them to substitute. Send them back.

Where did you get the Angry Birds ornaments? My son and husband love AB and I wouldn't mind picking up a set.

Unfortunately, this is not a holiday problem. It happens to me in all the seasons. Even if you can't speak English, you can certainly tell whether the invoice words match the words on the merchandise. Telephus, I ordered them from toysrus.com. I e-mailed them and they haven't responded yet. I want my ornaments. You may be able to buy them in store. You can check online, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

There seems to be one thing in common on all of the orders...

I don't think I've ever received an incorrect order. I haven't really done much on-line shopping recently though so things may have changed. LOL Archie! Be nice! Just as I suspected....it's me. I hope it's not catching, like whoever posts on this thread will receive an incorrect order. Archie, have you ordered anything lately?

I don't order a whole lot of stuff but it recently happened to DH when he ordered movies from Netflix? or something like that. They screwed up his order and I heard him saying "Well - How I interpreted it..." (((Hugs))) Fam! I think you should order yourself something nice for all of your troubles. ;D

Nope, I ordered some shoes from kohls one came as a size 6 and one came in a size 5 . Pain in the butt. The managers took an extra 15 bucks off for my hassle.

Well, the box said size 5 shoes but in reality, one was and one wasn't. Manager said he thought someone should check the insides of box before shipping. Even if you did, they look similar in size, you'd have to look inside the shoe.

is it Ebay? or reputable companies? or just one company in particular that you order from?
also FYI- usually those naughty websites make these kinds of mistakes (or so I hear), so maybe stop ordering from those kind of sites? ;D

Cabana boy? ? <<crosses fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs>> Do they make those battery operated now? If you're sticking batteries in your cabana boy you are doing it wrong.

I guess it goes both ways. Last month I received a package with the stuff I ordered, plus a $50 remote-control helicopter I didn’t order and wasn’t billed for. No, I didn’t send it back.
My SIL recently ordered a few things from a Scottish bakery. She received a huge box with dozens of pastries, meat pies, etc. (Somebody was planning a BIG party.) She called and was told she wouldn’t be billed and to “just enjoy” since it was food they couldn’t take it back.

Don't cross your legs CL! I thought that was half of the fun of getting a cabana boy!

It has happened with a lot of big companies such as Amazon, Kohl's, Dick's, Macy's. If it was one store in particular I would just stop ordering from them. Everything I have ordered from Ebay over the years has been correct. I ordered a cabana boy once. I was so excited when the box arrived. Inside was a hunched over old man with a big belly, no hair and no teeth! I called costumer service and they told me that I should have read the fine print which stated "sizes and ages may vary" and "no returns". I tried to make the best of the situation, but when I told him to fetch me an iced tea, it took him 20 minutes. He had to stop every few feet and rest. Anyway, I have received many packages in the last three days and everything has been right. I think my luck is changing!

Toys R Us has been really bad lately, even in store. I noticed they had a huge glut of kids the last weekend I was there being "trained" for the holiday season. The last kid couldn't even figure out how to operate the register.
I think some posters are right and it's due to a bunch of temps being hired and just thrown into the mix. Who cares, you aren't keeping them on staff after the holiday season is over.
