The age old question! I grew up with ketchup smothered meatloaf and that's the way I make it... what do you consider the best meatloaf?

what do you consider the best meatloaf? The one that sings. I loved his "Bat out of hell" album. On the other hand I always put ketchup on the meatloaf that you eat at home.

Mexican meatloaf made with picante sauce.
the best thing about meatloaf is making sandwiches from the leftovers...slice & brown on each side; serve on hearty bread with mustard

Meatloaf is now made in burger style patties at my house. It cooks quicker, with the perfect number of servings. It's usually served with buttered noodles and peas. It's very popular, except for the peas. That's the price you pay to get the meatloaf and noodles

TGH firmly believed that meatloaf was invented so that the leftovers could be used for sandwiches. He put steak sauce on it when we had it for supper but insisted that meatloaf sandwiches be made with brown mustard.
DS loved meatloaf any old way. For supper with a baked potato or noodles or rice or mashed potatoes, in a sandwich, hot or cold for breakfast.
For supper, I like meatloaf plain. No ketchup, no steak sauce, no Worcestershire. In a sandwich, it needs cheese, yellow mustard, and pickled Bell peppers, preferably on a toasted Kaiser roll.

Made with a ketchup mixture on top (ketchup, brown sugar and just a touch of ground mustard) and made with bread, not dry crumbs or oatmeal. The best one I ever made though was at my son's request, it had dark rye bread (I didn't have any wheat or white) and bbq sauce. I also usually mix in a little shredded cheddar.

Ketsup or tomato paste with Italian seasonings. I've also put marinara sauce on top and baked it and added shredded mozzarella cheese the last few minutes. Yum!!

I like meat loaf that's firm not any starchy fillers or too many vegetables in it so it falls apart.

Meatloaf can have some but if it has too many vegetables in it it falls apart.

Do you put egg in it? I don't have that problem when I add egg. It's juicy and tender but not mushy.
