I bought some really awesome Pfaltzgraff Christmas dishes for about $100 on Craig's List. Great buy.
But I was looking for serving dishes. The set was for 12, but the serving dishes add to the table.
I was contacted by someone on CraigsList about the serving dishes, and her prices were anywhere from 20% less to 20% more than the Pfaltzagraff site. Hers are all new in the box, but I wasn't looking for NIB.
So how much would you offer? She is a professional seller. The truth is that I don't want to offer at all, but I did post the ad. I just know she wants way more than I am willing to pay. She gave me a sample . . . a 16-pc set for $55. It sells online for $69 plus there are coupons and cash back from your cc (Discover is offering 5% for online purchases.)

Tell her that - that you are not necessarily looking for NIB, that her prices are not competetive with the Pfaltzgraff site, and that she wants way more than you are willing to pay. Also keep in mind that if she truly is a professional seller that most likely that is her starting point. Just because you posted and she replied does not mean you owe her anything more than "thanks but no thanks."

You might as well offer something if she has pieces you want. With email it will only take a few minutes and the worst thing that will happen is she says "no". Then you can move on. If you really don't want to offer anything, then tell her you think her prices are higher than what you had budgeted and you'll be done with it.

Don't feel any need to please her or accommodate her. Tell her what you are willing to pay. If it is $10, tell her that.
