LMAO! Jenny, do you itch? Does it burn when you pee? If you have any of those symptoms, it is actually Omni that is to blame.
I want an investment property too! I want it to be right on the beach. And I want to live in it. Wait, is that not how investment properties work??

LOL, Jen!! 97 said the same thing to Tina and I on FB. Hey, look on the bright side. Properties are way cheaper here and you can be an owner much quicker.

Unfortunately, it looks like my house is going to turn into our "investment" property....even though I don't want to be a lanlord. Sigh....anyone want to rent a 4 bedroom, 1 office, 3.5 bathroom house in Mayberry (not really called that, but it is what I call it).

If you are going to be a long-distance landlord, I highly recommend using a property manager. Heck, I tried to convince my husband to use a property manager for the ones we owned locally!

Tina, yes we have already started contacting differen property management companies to find out what one will best suit our needs.
TD-no I don't want a bigger house. We are moving out of state, and our house is now worth about $70K less than what we paid for it thanks to the economy. We don't have $70K sitting around to pay the difference so it looks like we will have to find a renter. I really would like to sell it, but it just isn't going to happen.

We lost the same amount when we sold in June....hopefully you will be able to get a great deal on the house you purchase when you move

I hope you find a good management comp and they get a good renter in fast. Who knows this may end up a blessing in disguise.

Tina, we don't actually plan on buying again until DH retires. If we are still losing money on this house, we might have to move back here. We will see though. I am hoping that we don't have to because I don't want to retire in Michigan. I need sun and warmth!

Sorry to hear that Angel, that's a lot of money I realize. What's the rental market like in your area?
