Urrrgggh. They'd have to sedate me for a week just knowing the thing had been there!

A bit of irritation, but obviously no pain. The spider was flushed out. It would have died, dessicated, and been flushed out, or emerged on its own in time anyway. No damage done. Think of it like a teensy little puppy, and it just happened to hide out in your ear for a few days. 99.9% of the "yuck" factor is simply our perception. Or let's put it this way: for $1,000.00, I'd let a spider live in my ear for five days—even knowing it was there.

It could gnaw through your ear canal and lay its eggs in you brain......... An anatomist might take exception to that theory. Also, an entomologist. As far as I know, a spider's mandibles are flimsy and useless for anything but injecting and sucking. "Gnawing" anything would pretty much be out of the question.

Oh well...perhaps I was thinking of a puppy........ Phew, thats a relief...... I though for a minute they were harmless. Anyway, anything that looks that nasty... has to be up to no good.........
