When I get my hair cut, I go to Great Clips on a Wednesday...$9.99 for old people. That happens maybe four or five times a year.
Shampoo lasts a long time, but when I need it, it comes from the dollar store. Whatever is cheap, my hair doesn't care, and the only thing shampoo can do is make your hair clean so shampoo is a matter of personal preference. My personal preference is $1! Maybe three bottles a year. Or less.
Don't wear makeup.
Don't get manicures or pedicures.
Toothpaste...my dentist told me once that anything more than a dime-sized bit of toothpaste is just wasted because that's all you need. A tube of toothpaste lasts me 6-8 months.
Deodorant...it lasts a long while. I buy it maybe twice a year.
Walmart's version of Oil of Olay three times a year at $3.97 a bottle.
I am such a spendthrift and have to cut back before it gets completely out of hand ;D

I cut my hair myself. Wet it, flip it over, and cut. I have medium long hair. I color it myself. I don't wear make-up only going out. I'm a writer and I sit on the computer all day at home. Why bother?
I can wear my jammies if I want to!

OK, I'm about to blow everyone's budget out the water! Professional shampoo - $40 every two weeks, Relaxer - $70 every 6-8 weeks, Haircut - $20 as needed; Pedicure - $20 monthly; Eyebrows - $8 as needed; Don't really wear make-up but just started using Mary Kay skincare - $90. I know that some of you may think that I spend a lot but I don't have the time or inclination to become a beautician. Moreover, the results from me trying to do so would cost WAAAAAAAAY more than I pay now. Finally, it's in my household budget and worth every penny to me.

I budget $400/yr for personal grooming expense...however, things like toothpaste, deodorant, etc aren't included in that, because they come out of my grocery budget.
No "salon" expenses for me; I do it all myself, including haircuts.
I don't use a lot of "products", but the ones I do use are fairly pricey. I splurge on Aveda shampoo because it works better on my hair than any cheaper product (and I've tried them all); that's maybe $80/yr. Probably $160/yr on M.A.C. foundation, lipstick, & powder. My prescription face-wash product runs about $100/yr . The rest is spent on hair styling products and misc small purchases.
I used to be a product junkie, so I put myself on a cash-only budget for this kind of stuff. Right now, I'd love to buy some Hanae Mori perfume, but I've spent my limit and have to save up for a few months before I can afford it.
