I'm kind of stealing this from the EE haircut thread. Anyway, what do you spend on personal grooming? What do you take care of yourself and what do you get done professionally?

It's hard to say exactly what we spend on personal grooming because I lump clothing into that category as well (we budget $125/mo for both for two)
Professionally: Haircuts ($34 each every 6 weeks) and highlighting ($80 quarterly)
Myself: everything else

I do my own waxing and nails, haircut and highlight every 6 weeks runs me $65.00 (my neighbor left a salon and does it out of her house a little cheaper

I do my own haircolor, nails. I spend about $20 on a haircut (2-3 times a year). I cut DH's hair for him.

I get my roots done and a trim every 6 to 8 weeks for 40 + tip. I tried the coloring part by mself at home...disaster! Faint hair color spots are still all over the bathroom walls despite my attempts at removing them. Other then that I am not so fancy, I update some makeup basics about 2x a year.

Hair cut every 10 weeks for $50. Otherwise I'm low maintenance. I don't wear make up. I don't do manicures, pedicures etc. I probably spend about $40 every 3 -4 months on stuff like shampoo, face wash, moisturizer.

Wow, you guys are low maintenance. I'm looking at at least $400 for hair ($100 twice a year for colouring and $50 4 times a year for cut), $300 for nails ($25/month), 3 pedicures at $40/each and $200 for my tanning package. Let's say $300 for make up. $1,320. And don't even THINK about having me drop any of that. I do my own facials and many of my own pedicures as well.

I spend about $1000/year for cuts and coloring - color every 5 weeks, cut every 10. I do my own waxing and manicures, but my salon has a new manicurist so I might start having him to my nails every so often. I'd have to look back, but I probably spend about $150/year on makeup since I only wear it when I work outside the house and on special occasions. Add in about $250 for skincare, haircare, etc. products a year and I come out to around $1400/year or ~$120/month.

We don't really have a budget for this. I get my hair cut every 2-3 months or whenever it starts bugging me. I don't do manis or pedis or waxing or tanning or highlights or makeup. I think there's a bottle of clear nail polish in the drawer that I bought in 2008. My wonderful DH gets his hair cut pretty much every 2 weeks (he's in the military and has pretty short hair).

I don't really have a budget for this stuff monthly. I get my hair cut at supercuts every 3 months since i keep my hair long, and i get my eyebrows waxed every month for $10 plus tip.

I am very low maintenance. I work in industrial environment, so I dress down for work.
Haircuts $15, I have short very thick hair. I wait until it gets so thick and unruly that I can't stand it, probably every 6-8 weeks Hair color, $5 every 6-8 weeks, have to cover the grey that I have had since mid 20s No manicure, pedicure, waxing, etc. Makeup - probably $20 per year. Don't wear to work, just church and going out Shampoo, soap, toothpaste $50 per year, use Grocery Challenge method and get most of this free or very low cost
Total maybe $200 per year.

$50.00 every 4 weeks for color, trim and style. ( Have been going gray since I was 30) Need my hair to look nice for my job. Don't think I will ever quit coloring. I look 10 years younger than I am and want to keep it that way! My saloon charges $5.00 for a eyebrow wax, so about every 6 weeks I get that done. Buy makeup when I need it. Only get a $20.00 a month pedi in the summertime. No nails, don't like them.

I get a haircut every 4 weeks @ $20.00, including tip and my hair gets colored every 6 weeks for $45.00. Most of my makeup and nail polish I get free using my coupons and I do my own manicures and pedicures. Massages are a very rare treat, usually bought with a gift certificate. My hair grows really fast and needs the most attention.

That one I do myself with the take home wax strips. $7 for 2 months and I can freshen it weekly. There's home wax strips? I've been plucking for years because the salon wax strips tore my skin. How are the home ones? Does it work well? I think they work great. Veet has a line of them that I like. You get them specialised for various body parts. The main differance is size and shape of the strips.

Hair cut every 6-8 wks. @ $14! I gave up coloring and/or frosting! It got to be too much trouble! All the rest I do myself. Not much makeup so maybe $20 yr. Shampoo, maybe $20 yr. Our biggest expense is fix-o-dent for our dentures! ;D

Hair cut every six weeks $26.00. DD gets about 3 hairscuts a year. DD and I use the same shampoo so about $15.00 every 8-12 weeks. DD uses conditioner so $15.00 every 3 months. I don't wear makeup, don't color (although I probably should) because my hair is short and I would spend a lot cutting the color off.

I spend so little that I don't even really budget it. I get all of my shampoo, conditioner, hair color, styling products and make up free with coupons. I get my hair cut at Cost Cutters about every 10 weeks. If I go on their "sale" day, it's 12.95, regular days are 17.95. They had a promo right before Christmas where you paid $40 for a gift card that is good for 4 hair cuts. I just used it today for the first time. I might have to pay for one more cut this whole year.

I am not normal. I had my hair cut 2 ish years ago? Twenty with tip at Hair Cuts Etc. or one of those places. I have thick, curly, unruly hair. Frankly, you can't tell on any given day whether I've brushed it or not. I'll occasionally hack a bit (or a lot) off. I cut bangs and took a bit off the sides myself one day a couple of months ago. I got many compliments, the best from a friend who is a hairdresser, LOL. I color it myself every 4-6 weeks. I've found a good color now, but have had a few oops along the way. I do pedicures 2-3 times a year and manicures occasionally. My toes last fine. but I work with my hands and usually wreck a mani within hours of getting it. I wear mascara. It's a recent thing, due to DD"s influence. DH loves that I'm so low maintenance.

I'm pretty low maintenance. Haircut every couple of months or so, $20 with tip. I color my own hair since my hairdresser passed away a few years ago (too cheap to pay everyone else's prices). maybe 1-2 pedis each year, otherwise I do it myself. Makeup maybe $40 per year, shampoo/conditioner around $25 per year. Maybe another $20 per year for "other". So maybe $300 per year.

laterbloomer, I hope that is a spray tan package you are paying for. I pay $75 for a haircut and brow wax every 10 weeks. So, I guess that's about $375 per year. I can manage my eyebrows in between, but I like the professional touch up now and again. Probably about $150 for hair product and shampoo. $250 for make-up, razors and other personal care stuff. I spend about $200 per year on pedicures, but I don't do manicures because I tend to chip them on the drive home. I always think of myself as low-maintenance, but that's running pretty close to a grand a year. Yikes!

I get a haircut monthly, $30. I use Mary Kay skin care that I generally buy when it's at a discount(Christmas and my birthday), about $180 yearly-I just use the basics. I have acne so I use retin-A, about $18 yearly for co-pays. I haven't bought shampoo in quite a while as I've lately gotten a lot of it, plus mousse, for free.

DH cuts his own hair.
I go to Cost Cutters twice a year. I use the body soap, shampoo and conditioner at the fitness center about 5 days a week. I have a lot of conditioner at home and hope it doesn't go rancid.
Make up is mascara unless I want to dress up and then it's full makeup. I buy Wet & Wild lipsticks.

LATER: I promise I won't take those things away from you, if you promise not to take my teddy bear!
I am just making changes here. I live in a small town. A good cut should not cost 40.00. Every 5 weeks. So I found a lady who does point cuts and - get this- will come to my home for 8.00 a cut. her Reeki treatment was only 35.00 and the best I've ever had. So I am changing over to her. My shampoos and such are free with all my wheeling and dealing. My make up is Mary Kay so 28.00 a year. Mascara is free. I don't wear much else. Eye cream is expensive, but purchased one time a year. I do mani and pedi. After years of watching the person I paid big bucks to do them, I learned quite a bit. My brows have gone natural and I do the maintenance on them. So I'm not a cheap date, not an expensive one. When I worked, I was an expensive date.

Hair: $20 cut twice a year. $3 shampoo from Whole Foods or Trader Joes (their house brand.) Makeup: I will purchase foundation when the department store has a great sample deal ($40 once a year.)

I probably should have a budget for this but I don't. I get a haircut every 8 weeks or so but no color. That runs $40 each time. Shampoo averages $10 a year. I wear Mary Kay almost exclusively and spend about $75 a year normally but over the last couple of years both DDs have stopped selling MK and I have benefitted from their closeouts. Other odds and ends are usually $20-30 a year max as I ask for the other incidentals (hand cream and the likes) for gifts. I do my own manis and pedis and I seldom need to do eyebrow maintenance any more as I have very few strays any more. I think it comes with age. I really look forward to not having to wear makeup every day when I retire. I love the way it makes me look but I'll be happy to not feel like I have to wear it every day.

I get about 3 haircuts/year, so about $150 Color my hair myself monthly since my hair grows fast, dye normally $7, been getting it on sale with coupons for about $4, so another $50 for that. During the summer, I do get pedicues about once/month, so about $100 there ($25 each). Moisturizers and makeup, probably another $200/year.
Grand total, about $500....round up to $100 for other incidentals.....so maybe $600.

I've not had my hair cut in years, so nothing there for me.
shampoo/cont. costs us as a family $5 a month maybe.
Dh and kids get their hair cut once every couple of months but in laws pay for it because they are picky and so darn worried about image...they can work it into their own budget. Not a clue how much they spend. Too much I am sure.
I do not wear make-up, nails aren't done.
We might spend $100 or so for the year on the general grooming for the entire family.
