How about a snack and drink combo: a venison-tini: martini with a stick of venison jerky.
Geez, I must be really tired. I actually think that's a good idea.

Spell check doesn't function as a word usage check. DD1 leans on spell check too heavily, but it isn't going to flag "there", if it is spelled correctly, and the word should be "their". Sometimes it is glaringly obvious when people rely on spell check. This is true, and I've gotten caught using the wrong usage. I believe a good education of proper grammar and spelling is necessary. Then use spell check as a last check before posting. Even more important when final proofreading documents and job resumes.

I don't mind the acronyms but writing "u" and "r" as words in any context makes me want to stab people.

Dezi and I had a running battle over the posting style (short cut) he used when he first appeared on the Politics board. He's improved. ;D

Mmmmm, gin and tonic. Lots of tonic and a large slice of lemon.

I don't mind the acronyms but writing "u" and "r" as words in any context makes me want to stab people. What are you really saving by using "you" instead of "u"? Will typing the extra two letters really take that much of your valuable time. I'm one of the ones who feel that if you're going to bother to communicate, put the effort into it to doing it properly. KWIM? My kids have figured out that the outcome is generally better for them if they take the time to spell things correctly when they text me. I'm much more likely to agree to a request that doesn't annoy me instantly, just by virtue of how it's written.

Thine post doth confuseth me. I need a nap. I read that as "King James Venison." Maybe I need a snack......... Hopefully the Venison is newer.

TYVM? What is that?
My all time favorites are, your/you're, there/their, loose/lose. And why would you use the word 'utilize' instead of 'use'? 1 syllable instead of 3.

Google will likely come up with the abbreviation when you come across a new one you haven't seen before.
